Yes, dubious call by the ref, could’ve been a non call. But what an ending.
I’m curious how you were able to catch a replay. Was this on your personal DVR or are the replays available online? I’m going to miss today’s game as well. I mentioned earlier my streaming service provides a DVR but I don’t have any way to record over the air broadcasts like Fox.
It was a full replay on one of the Fox Sports channels, FS1 or 2, last night (US, east coast time). I realized it was a replay when they aired OT immediately after regulation, without a break of talking head panelists during the interim.
Thanks! My streaming service includes FS1 and 2 so maybe I’ll be able to catch a replay tonight.
Women’s final between England vs. Spain was replayed late last night. Having known the score, I unintentionally dozed off in parts.
From what I saw before nodding off - loved the grit of this England team. Spain looked good too and I wasn’t surprised they made the final.
Woeful PKs again! Spain made their first, and missed their next 3. 1/4 on PK’s is really really bad. England missed 2 of their 4, but Chloe made hers count when it mattered to get the win.
I would be happy to be a PK coach. They should call me. Either team ![]()
The women’s final was a good game. Both goals in regulation were quality.
But you’re on the money on the PK’s. Not good. I was happy to see England pull it off, but Spain appeared stronger for much of the match.
The EPL starts soon!
FX has a new documentary series, Necaxa. It’s in Spanish with English subtitles.
From what I gather (it’s on in the background) is that Eva Longoria is an owner(?), or principal. And Ryan Reynolds and Rob M are investors.
Welcome to Wrexham was great. Can’t tell if Ryan, Rob are trying to repeat some formula? Or stretching themselves too thin on this side gig? Or Eva L hopping on the success of the Wrexham experience – in Mexico.
That looks interesting, thanks. It should be interesting to learn about football in Mexico in a docuseries.
Spurs Spurred all over themselves
Spursy tag continues.
Pre season tours are over and new EPL season kicks off today
Liverpool vs. Bournemouth. Outcome shouldn’t be a surprise, but you never know.
I’m pumped! I’ve got the LFC game set to record, so will watch tonight.
The finish for Fulham was incredible. They were at +7 on the watch
Ran across an interesting article explaining the CWC trophy in the Oval Office. I thought I saw speculation that he has the original, but the original is at FIFA’s HQ in Zurich. The team received a replica, as did trump for being the leader of the host country.
I have mixed feelings about him displaying it so prominently, as I doubt that he’s much of a football fan. But maybe it’s good for the game to have a footy trophy front and center for all to see.
What’s the Club World Cup trophy doing at the Oval Office of the White House?
Interesting. Didn’t know the originals, including the World Cup stay at FIFA HQ.
I think Trump did pocket a medal though, during the club World Cup ceremony.
And again with Eze. We lost a one horse race.
Baron played at a pretty high level. So he could be a fan. My kids got me into soccer and now it’s my favorite sport to watch.
In EPL action, Liverpool escaped with the win over Newcastle.
Came down to the wire with a 16 year old kid (!) coming through for the Reds.
I watched that game! That was so amazing seeing the 16 yo Rio have his huge moment. I actually watched some of the post game coverage to see it. The crowd was chanting Rio! Rio! Very cool.
I’m a bit nervous about our defense. Two games in a row giving up multiple goals. Not that I’m expecting a championship repeat but also don’t want to have a season where we have to outscore to win.
