Foot arch pain

First post on ST!!!

So I’ve been having quite a bit of pain in the arches of my feet after I run lately. It started over the summer, probably because I was wearing sandals way too much. I haven’t worn them in at least a month or more and it hasn’t really seemed to go away. I don’t think it’s as bad as it used to be. Late in the summer, they would pretty much hurt constantly, but now it’s just after runs.

I know it’s not my shoes, as I’m using a new pair of the same model that I used and loved last year so I can’t think of anything that has changed that could be responsible for this.

Anyone have experience with this or have any ideas as to what it may be? Any help would be great. Thanks!

google/search here for plantar fasciitis and read away …

Start with the cheapest pair of arch supports you can find-like Dr Shoals (?).

Remove the insoles from your present shoes and replace them with the above-mentioned product.

I like to think of them as a “foot bra”-stops the sagging. Hehehe.

Yeah, I’ve never tried inserts so maybe I should start there. I have always known that I have higher arches and have bought shoes accordingly. I just find it quite strange that this has come about fairly recently and I don’t feel that I’ve changed anything since I’ve started running.
It’s definitely not a debilitating pain…more of a nuisance than anything. Just want to make sure it doesn’t turn into anything.
Thanks much for the feedback!

Rroof offers much good advice-see his profile and other posts on related subjects. I only offer old age.

That being said, I am now living proof that gravity is not my friend…and apparently, not yours either.

In my guesstimation, that is what has changed for you. Welcome to your future.
