Focus bikes any opinions

Yes, I did a search and did not find much.

Anyways, love this forum. I have been riding my felt tri bike for 3 years now and love it. But, I am missing just some good old road bike social pack time now that my season is finished. My LBS just started carrying Focus and wondered if anybody had any thoughts on the bikes as I am in the market for a road bike. Components seem the same with any good bike manufacturer (low end of price Tiagra, higher you go to 105). Anybody out there own one that can offer some experience with the ride and handling of Focus I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

I have a Focus Cayo with Ultegra. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the bike with no real complaints. I picked it up for under $2k, so I wasn’t expecting it to be perfect, but at that price I am very happy.

The low down:

  • It’s a little heavy (not too bad). the American Classic wheels that came with it caused most of the weight
  • Durable, I take it on dirt roads quite a bit
  • The paint scheme tends to not clean well
  • My 58 came with narrow handlebars, which I like

They are pretty popular here in Europe and i have never met someone that didn’t like theirs.
I strongly considered the Cayo 1.0 this summer but opted for the Caad10-3.

CAAD’s are great. I have actually been keeping an eye out for any used ones just in case I see a good deal. Thanks for the response. Made in Europe…makes sense since I have not seen many here in the states or have any friends that own one.

Jeremy Powers rides them for 'cross season and seems to do well.

I know you’re not after a tri bike but I’ve got a self built Focus Tria TT frame and it’s been good to be over the past couple of years.

If I were in the market for a new road bike I’d definitely consider looking at some of their models.

Good to know about the TT bikes in case my felt lets me down. I am hoping they have a demo day before the holidays. My LBS is pretty cool so I am sure they would let me have a spin on one but just no comfortable with the brand yet but overall from every ones response it sounds like a sound bike. Keep the responses coming and I do appreciate the input.
