I have heard the chocolate milk is one of the best!
What is important is that after a longer harder training session, it is important to get in a number of calories into your body in that 30 - 40 minute window post-workout, while the bodies metabolism is still humming along at a high level. This will not only speed up the recovery from that particular workout, but it will also start the replenishment process for the next workout.
Do you mean “fluid” as in any type of liquid recovery drink? Or is “fluid” a brand name? If you’re talking about liquid drinks, I’ve had good results with them.

Clarification - Talking about Fluid brand.
I’ve had the best results with Ultragen. I train pretty hard and the decreased recovery time is noticeable. In the fall, my schedule was typically a hard brick with intervals in the morning and a hard swim (~5000m long course) at night. I’d often cramp up a little (especially inner thigh) somewhere around 3000m. It pretty much stopped happening after using Ultragen. My schedule now is more often the swim at mid-day and the brick later in the afternoon. I still feel recovered enough for multiple hard workouts per day.
I love Fluid! It’s a small company that was started by two Cal Poly SLO students, one of them is the head coach of their triathlon team. They support a lot of races and college teams in California.
The stuff is all high quality ingredients and works as well as any “recovery” product out there. There is only one flavor, and it tastes alright but not great. I like it ice cold after a long run or ride.
Have you heard about GENR8?
I have just started with it, and I think it is the bomb…
Have you tried it? The one I saw at GNC was like 400 carb calories without any protein in it. Was I looking at a wrong one?
I get most all my protein from food sources…what I need/want pre/during/post racing/training is the best possible Glycogen source. This stuff has really made a difference.
