The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon lottery will take place on December 15th. If anyone from Slowtwitch has entered the lottery and does not get a spot in Alcatraz - I will give them a $40 discount on the entry fee for Florida’s Great Escape Triathlon. You can come down to Florida on Feb. 27th, 2005 and try to qualify for Alcatraz.

Just e-mail me your mailing address and I’ll send you a paper application with you discount. You will have to mail it back to me by January 15th.

Good luck with making it in the lottery, but if you do not make it, we will have a great race for you in Florida! Z

Are the slots offered for the 2005 or 2006 Alcatraz race?

Also I am not entered in the lottery, but I am looking to qualify for the 2006 race, would you extend the discount to someone in my situation?

Do you have a website or somewhere to get info about the race? An “escape” race is on my goals for next year.

The slots are for the 2005 race - the 2006 race slots will be available next year! Z

Tom, could you break down the course for me. Wetsuit swim?, Flat bike-run? Do you sell-out?

Chappy - Wet-suit swim - water temp - 68-74 - rolling hills - the bike course description and profile and be found at the web site - www.steelheadtriathlon.com - run has a two good hills. Air temp could be anywhere from 60’s - 90’s in Michigan in August! Z

Thanks for the Steelhead info…I was looking for something on the Florida Escape – looking for an excuse to get out of a Feb marathon and go to Fl instead!

chappy - also a good race - Florida’s great escape web site is www.usat-ntc.com. Lake swim - 58 degree water 1.5 miles - 18 mile bike - rolling hills - 8 mile run (6 on pavement and 2 on trails) Z
