Just ran out of Claritin was going to switch to something else as it doesn’t seem to work all the time.
Heard good things about these two options, and looking for opinions at Costco I can get 360 sprays of either Flonase is $55 Nasacort is $35. Since that is a 6 month usage time, not really much difference in cost.
I’ve used Nasacort for a year, plus claritan. My aunt (pharmacist) said Flonase is better so I just started using it at the end of allergy season. Not enough time to tell if it is any better.
I’ve been hooked on Zyrtec and Afrin for quite a while. Switched to Flonase yesterday and holy crap, life is already better! I did fly out of dusty tx so that may have something to do with it but, I think Flonase is responsible for my ability to breathe!

There is a generic fluticasone (Flonase) that’s still available by prescription, if you have prescription benefits. I pay $14 for 3 bottles (120 sprays each) through my insurance’s mail order pharmacy.
Have you tried zyrtec or allegra? According to my allergist, people respond differently to each of the main 3 one-a-days. Allegra worked better for me than Claritin.
I’m 4 weeks into allergy shots. Kind of a pain as it takes 2 - 3 years to complete and starts at once per week for 12 weeks.

Yes, zyrtec knocked me out for like 12 plus hours. Allegra made me not feel well. Besides why not just go for the full cover of Nasacort or Flonase, cost is a little bit more but even at flonase prices I can afford $55 for 6 months treatments.
As a FU, I’ve now been on Flonase for several days and I’ve not had the 100% nasal blockage I was suffering for the last 2 weeks. I presume it’s the flonase and will continue using it. I do still supplement with Afrin but not nearly as often as I was having to do before.
