I just tried to fit my Arione Tri2 Carbon with the braided rails on my P3C and poof, no dice. I did a quick search and realized many other people have had this problem. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I’d hate to just sell the saddle on eBay or something since I am quite partial to Arione’s and also am not too interested in going through the hassle of getting rid of the saddle period. Someone out there has to make a machined part that solves this problem, no?

unfortunately that is what you need to do. Grab the same saddle with TI rails or find someone to switch. I think the weight difference is less than a Gu gel (just doesn’t look as cool).
Ugh! I wouldn’t be opposed to the Ti railed Arione, know of anyone who has one that wants to swap for a brand new Tri 2 Carbon in all white?
I have a lightly used one with the Kium rails.
pm me so we can talk…
Braided rails are oval and do not fit Cervelo and many other bikes. Try the Titanium rails they should fit fine. WTF is Fikik???
Ha ha ha, “Fakik” is the new Fizik…it’s Arabic instead of Italian and made with camel skin instead of Microtex…good thing I proof-read before I post

You screwed it again! It is Fikik not Fakik!
I quit…
Want to buy a saddle? lol
I’ve been running one on my P-3 for the past year. I used a dremel tool to grind out the slots on the rails and its been working great. Use the cylindrical bit that is about the size of the rails.

Do you think it is a good idea to do that? I mean you are technicly weakening the only connection between your ass and the bike. But again I’ve seen people do more stupid things.
Hi everyone:
Yes, we are aware of the compatibilty issues re: are braided carbon rails and some seat posts. Apologies to anyone who dropped major coin on our braided carbon railed saddles only to get the saddle home to discover it’s not compatible w/ your post. To work toward solving that problem, I do believe that several companies have begun manufacturing an interchangeable clamp. I do not have all of the information here regarding who’s doing what, so I’m leery of dropping names, but my understanding is that both Bontrager and Ritchey offer something. Again, don’t call me on that - as I am not 100% certain - just some info I’ve picked up along the way while working w our pro teams that are sponsored by either of those companies and fi’zi:k. I do know that a particular multi-time tdf winner ran into the problem while testing one of our saddles - and I ‘believe’ that he pressured an unnamed company to work on a solution. Regardless, dude is not a fi’zi:k athlete, but he’s been known to admire one particular model.
ALL THAT SAID, we have also been working on our own solution and while this solution may not work for all (particularly if you’ve got an integrated design) we do hope it works for some! And that is…the new fi’zi:k Cyrano seat post. I’m still waiting for samples and will get one to Herbert for testing review as soon as they are avail to me. We’ll be introducing it at the fall bike shows and they should hit the market shortly thereafter. I’d post an image but I’ve never figured out how to imbed on st.com. Is there a trick? I know that Matt at bicycling magazine dot com posted a review w lots of images just a short while ago following our press conference in Italy. Thus, you should be able to find some info there until I’m able to get one to Herbert.
Cheers & thanks,
