I’m planning on replacing my Sella San Marco Tri saddle with a Fizik arione tri saddle. I currently have the nose of my saddle directly over the center of my BB. However, the new saddle is longer than my current saddle. If I want the same basic ride do I still line the nose up with the center of the BB such that the extra length is in the back? Or, do I run it a little further forward with the extra length in the front? Split the difference? Thanks very much.
first off, is there a reason for the switch?
I 'dunno, but I love this saddle! Since most of the extra length is in the rear and if your current position is “dialed in”, I would say leave the nose the same and you gain the extra wiggle room at the back.
Good question. I just can’t get comfortable on my current saddle. I used to have a Koobie Tri which I liked. Then I switched to my current one. For some reason it seems “hard” even though I know it’s supposedly full of gel. I’ve heard good things about the other saddle of have one of their road saddles on my road bike and I like it.
I have the Arione Tri and am still in the adjustment mode. I do like it better than the Aspide. Why don’t you get the Koobie again if u liked it? I was thinking about trying the Koobie…
I made the same change. When I compared the two saddles, they seemed to be identically shaped from the nose, to where the saddle flairs, to the "wings. So, I set them up on the bike in exactly the same position.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Maybe I should just go back to the Koobie. On my old one one of the rails just snapped in half while I was on the trainer though. I’ve also read good things about the Arione Tri and thought it might be cool. Based on what I’m reading if I go with the new one I’ll put the nose over the middle of the BB just like I have it now. Thanks again for the advice everyone.
FWIW - I’m sure you’ll find the Arione “sit” position is further foward on the saddle. So, my guess is you’ll have to move the saddle back 1cm to compensate…
However, I had a Arione Tri and didn’t like it over the standard Arione.
