What did you gain with the lighter carbon rails (15 whole grams lighter than Ti)…other than a lighter wallet. I dont get it. Everyone knows the carbon rails do nothing but put a short lifespan on an item that used to last for years and years.
I admit, I purchased a carbon rail seat…that would not fit on my Cervelo, nor my Litespeed with a Thompson, but did with a Record Carbon post. That seat in about a year and a half had cracks in the rails. My Litespeed now sports a very comfy, sub 200 gram Flite that is about 10 years old.
I’m with you on these carbon rails. I’m not seeing enough benefit given the problems with limited fot on popular, proprietary seatposts. These saddles feel great and are nice and light but yeah, they are big bucks and don’t fit much. If they do fit your bike- awesome, they feel great- but they don’t fit too many bikes…
