Anyone uses this saddle? And what is the difference between TRI model and regular model? On Fizik company web there is only one model, some online stores selling the “Tri” version of the saddle, is it just the color or some modifications to it?
I m riding the tri version. I am sure that the only difference between the two is that the tri version has the slick micro sides to the saddle as standard where the arione normal has normal leather?
The tri model doesn’t have the two seams that run down the middle. also, I believe it has a little more padding ion the nose. I have the regular saddle for raod riding and I’m thinking getting the tri version, or using a pad on the regular for my tri bike. I love this saddle!
I have Azoto Tri saddle, and not happy with it, I should try it.
I’m not real happy with my Azoto tri saddle, either, that’s why I’m switching. An Arione with a seat pad I figure wold work, or an Arione Tri. Also, it comes with silver wings or all black. I prefer the all black, but if I can get a silver one cheaper, oh well.
Me 3! I have an Airione on my road bike and an Azoto tri on my race bike. I like the Airione better and I am also thinking about the tri version with a QR or Desoto cover for longer (1/2 IM or longer) races. Great seat
Can someone tell me the best way to get the saddle level, should I put a level from nose to tip of the saddle and level, or am I trying to get the nose of the saddle level so I should take my level reading just on the flat nose?
we’ve had this conversation before so you can do a search for it but i LOVE mine - absolutely the best saddle i’ve ever owned. i use it on my tri bike exclusively even though it’s not the tri version saddle. i think tom did a review at bikesportmichigan.com some time ago too.
I have the regular version on my road bike. Best saddle I’ve ever owned and the only one where I don’t have to think about my butt on long rides. Saddles are very individual, but this one works for me.
Have the Azoto on the tri bike. It’s OK but no match for the Arione. If I go long course I’d replace it with the Arione tri version.

Just picked up one of these and had the opportunity to compare it side by side with some other high end road and tri saddles. Others have already covered most of the differences. A few points - the tri saddle is available without the shiny silver panels, mine just has black leather. It isn’t the softest saddle around, neither is it the hardest. The nose is padded more than the road version, but not that much more. Mine weighed 255 grams, neither super light nor super heavy.
So far I’ve only got trainer miles on it. It seems like it will get the job done although I wouldn’t say it is tush nirvana either; but the trainer is harder on the butt than the road and my saddle time is lower this time of year. The extended back does seem it will allow me to scootch further back to closer to a road position on the hills. I think it’s overpriced, but I guess that’s the way the bike biz goes these days, I guess.
I have trained and raced on both, and I like the Arione better than the Arione Tri.
Hard to explain why, my body just seemed to have adapted better to the Arione, but the Arione Tri is on my tri bike and will stay there for another 1,000 miles ( 4 wks.) After that, if the wings haven’t molded yet, i can switch back to the Arione.
In any case, Fizik makes the best saddles I’ve been on by far.
This saddle is simply the best I have ever ridden on period! I have the tri version on my trek tt. I purchased it after getting pounded by a bike course in Iowa so I went with that one. I rode it one night on a 20 mile ride and decided and decided to take it with me on the half I had 3 days later. Great decision. I would have to say that it was definitely worth the money and probably the best money I spent last year.
