I have had a Selle San Marco ASPide on my road bike. After a hot 60 mile ride on Sunday my ass was just killing me. Prompting me to finally go buy a new seat. After reading several online reviews…one on Tom’s(BikeSport) website, I bought the Fi’zi:k Arione. Rode 25 miles on it last night…WOW. Wish I had done this earlier. Very, very comfortable seat. NO pain issues at all. I highly recommend this seat if anyone is considering a change.
Ah, yes. I love mine too (on my second road seat with over 12,000 miles on 2) - but they don’t seem to last long ;( Just got the tri version this year - not quite as good as the road version, but I still like it (only 5 tris on it so far)
I have always been a Selle Italia Flite guy on my road bike. However, when I put together my tri bike this spring I went with the Arione Tri and absolutely love it. So much so that I am considering the standard Arione for my road bike.
That said, eveyone’s rear end is unique, which means not everyone gets the same level of satisfaction with the same saddle. Unfortunately it is just trial and error.
I had the aspide tri and my but was always sore with lots of frontal numbness. Switched to the Airione Tri and I came off the bike at CDA all smiles! Best Saddle I’ve owned.
I thought I died and went to heaven when I got on my Aliante Gamma (no carbon for me - 190lbs). Better yet, it was left over OEM at my LBS, so I got a super-duper price on it.
I know a guy who’s carbon rails separated from the Ti part of the seat rails. He called Fizik and said for $190, that shouldn’t happen. Fizik replaced it no charge. You should call/email or contact the LBS to do it for you.
Just checked the Fi’zi:k website and the spelling looks correct to me. I use a QR cover on my Flite and may use one on this if need be…so far don’t need to.
