I’m new to Tri and I just wanted to get some input on what would be a good first starting out suit… I’ve heard that the Synergy Endorphin is a good suit but I also heard that Blue Seventy makes some good beginner suits… Anyone have any suggestions for either, or something else?
Thanks!
Fit is king when it comes to wetuits (and bikes, and shoes, etc.!), so I’d recommend trying on as many suits as you can, and ideally swim in them as well. Local shops often have a demo day in early season, or if a local shop can’t help you, some online retailers such as trisports.com have a try-before-you-buy type program.
If the suit’s too tight, you won’t be able to breathe easily, your arms may fatigue faster, and you may get chafing. If it’s too loose, it’ll let excess water in, bogging you down and removing the buoyancy advantage a suit normally provides.
Regarding the difference between those two suits, I’d prioritize the fit above the gizmos (such as catch panels, reverse zippers, etc.) which are far less important IMO.
i’d get the best you can afford, mines 4 years old now and really going to be ok for another season, so long as you are sure you are in it for the long haul i’d get the best you can afford rather than a starter one.
like has been said though it’s all about the fit.

Order it, try it on, swim in it don’t like it return it. Only risk is the cost of shipping it back. Great company stands behind everything they make.
