First Look: The new Cervelo Dual

We got our first Cervelo Duals yesterday here at Bikesport. Most are sold but there are about 6 left for open stock. We posted a quick first impression preview I shot and wrote this morning before we opened. If you are interested in the Dual and why we think it was worth the wait please check it out at www.bikesportmichigan.com. It’s the top story. I hope you find it informative.

Here’s the link, if I can get this to work…

Man that looks like a sweet ride. If I hadn’t just picked up the One last year, I would definitely be in your shop today. I guess it’s a good thing they don’t sell it just as a frameset (at least from my wife’s perspective).

I saw my first Dual at the International Bicycle Show in Toronto during the winter. I posted here at the time that Cervelo had hit a home run. The only thing that was a bit underwhelming was the fork I thought. I don’t have any aero specs but it doesn’t “look” as fast as that on the P2K.

I took a Dual (as well as a P2K and a Caliente) for a test ride at InsideOut Sports just this morning. Those Cervelo design guys have the art of subtle innovation down to a science. The Dual climbs like a mountain goat, and otherwise is really responsive without seeming harsh. The approach to the standover height is especially unique in a forward geometry bike - “Look, Ma: no spacers!” I agree with Tom: a nice set-up for $1500.

The real thrill was the incredible attention I received from Mike Beaman and Cid Cardoso at InsideOut, even if I WAS a returning customer. I was there for three and a half hours, talking fit and getting questions answered. They just keep getting better and better!
