I’m interested in buying a set of zoomers, until I just saw the new Finis Zoomers Z2 Swim Fins. Has anyone used both models of the Zoomer? Who recommends which model and why?
We sell Zoomers, but honestly, I’ve never tried any of the training fins we carry…yet:

I have the Z2’s. I tried many different pairs. What others did for me is cut my toe area up. So, the Z2 fixes that issue by being closed toes. I still am getting cut up
at the top of my feet now, but I guess that is better than both places. I just have tender feet. :o)

The original zoomers are a very stiff set of fins. Therefore, when worn for long periods… say more than a half hour… they tend to cut your feet. The Z2s are much more flexible. That’s the set of fins I use any time I go more than about 2K in one set.

Isn’t that the point of the zoomer?..to be short and stiff so they aren’t like the big diving fins? I would think the shorter and stiffer, the quicker the kick. I haven’t used the Z2s…are the better than a longer “training” fin…ie do they live up to the zoomer name?
That was the point of the original zoomer. The Z2 is a modification, obviously. The point is that you can put more mileage on them than with Z1s. Z1s and Z2s are similar in speed, i.e. not nearly as powerful a speed booster as diving fins. I still use both products for this reason. Z1s for utility and power work and Z2s for long mileage. The analogy I use is that it’s like a large 4X4 work truck (Z1) vs. your sedan that you’d like to use for long trips for fuel economy (Z2). The only thing else I can say is to give them a try. They are a different feel that you have to experience for yourself.
