i know these things are tiny, but does anyone know if there is any seat config (eg back seats down, passenger seat forward) that allows one to fit an adult sized road or tri bike inside?
Are you a woman? Sorry, but that is a chick car… And to answer your question I don’t think you will be able to fit any bike in there… Unless if its a kids bike then … Maybe.
likely possible if you take off both wheels. with both on you’ll never get one in there.
I have a family member that is a sound engineer that has been working on the 500 for several months here in the states. From what her husband has told me they seem to be very nice cars. They have two kids and said that it is plenty big for them. I think they are even going to buy one when they stop letting her take one home for free everyday.
I want one, and i’ll “Martini” it.
Only in America is a small car a “chick car”. Do we all need to drive a Yukon to pass your testicle test?
The upcoming Abarth version is going to be quite a performance bargain.
Not sure about a bike fitting, but I sometimes like to accentuate the efforts of the clearly misguided among us.
You can always buy a rack.
thats not a chick car here in Denmark, and we have been on the road with 2 (yes two) tribikes 200 lp records a set of speakers and luggage for a week.
It rox…
The 500 is a trick car. It is really neat and worth the money unless your penis size is tied to the size and gender of your car.

So now I am curious, what kind of week trip requires 2 tri bikes, 200 lp records, and a set of speakers?
Whatever it is, it sounds fun. Maybe a new type of event: the triathlon all night party.

+1. I also love that most Mustang convertibles I see are driven by women, but they’re not “chick cars.”
The 500 is cool. It has a small shelf backseat and a bike might fit in there, depending on size and how much leg space both passengers need.
the Abarth is awesome looking at it a small bike might fit but that would be tight
.
Take off wheels, and it will fit, I will admit.
And yeah I drive a car whose entire engine is way smaller than a six pack, barely reaches 4 - does that make me gayer than Elton John on a “Pin Prom” night?
Dang…
Home made in the car carrier, front wheel and saddle/seatpost removed, and I’ll bet it will fit.
I hired a Fiat Panda a few years ago to get some shower doors home from Hornbach (Home Depot equivalent) - the doors fit but I had to drive with my head sticking out the window a la Ace Ventura

My brother in law used to measure the value of things in Fiat Pandas - as in: “Those plane tickets cost us 1,1/2 Fiat Pandas!”

Well to make a very long story short i have a small cosy hotel on a small island in Denmark. On that hotel i have a cool cafe called “Aerobar” (because of all the triathletes training here, myself included) Aerobar has a Vinylbar with 600 Lp’s, 200 of which my two tribuddies brought to me from Copenhagen in the 500, one of the triathletes used to be a DJ and hauled his old speakers along for the ride. Actually one of the guys from the car was #9 today at Lanzarote…
Are training camps fun at my hotel… Well yes. www.nordbykro.com
I already have a “man’s car” with two turbos all wheel drive that goes like stink in any weather.
Now I want a Fiat 500 for a commuter errand car, and as an engineer I think it is a very well thought out design.
The guys on Top Gear love the Fiat 500 too, and they know cars.
You can continue to think it’s a “chics car” if you like. Changing your lame opinion is not on my to do list.

As a teenager, my choice of wheels was an old bike or my Mom’s Fiat 500, my dad wouldn’t let me neat his '69 Barracuda convertible.
I can therefore assure you from personal experience, it is amazing what can be accomplished in a Fiat 500.

Dude, I would so kill for the Abarth version to make it to the US (and it’s rumored to be coming). Even the regular 500 would be a blast to drive. It would fit nicely with my German sports sedan (starts with a B…) and classic Italian sports car (you know, the one with the pretty horsey logo) I already have. Tight handling will make it fun to drive. Guess I need to go with a real “dude’s car” that only does well in a straight line? Screw that. A car enthusiast drives for the pleasure, not the perceived dent on his manliness.
For bikes, no idea. All the Mini’s I’ve seen with bikes had them on top.
Don’t know if it’ll fit but I’ve seen quite a few around here near the Chrysler proving grounds. Neat looking. Much like my wifes Mini S, but a little more sleek.
Your masculinity must be pretty frail if a vehicle can emasculate you. Don’t let the things you own (or drive) define you- have a spine.
The 500 would be a fun daily driver or city car.
