I love my Fenix 3 that I’ve had for about 18 months. Unfortunately it suddenly will not connect to GPS. Just sits with a small red portion of the circle. Tried power cycle, then tried complete master reset and no luck. Any other suggestions? Anybody else have this issue and know how Garmin handled it. I’m not the latest firmware and it worked a few times just fine after the update.
I’ll certainly be contacting Garmin but thought I’d probably get some feedback here before I hear back from them. Any experience with how much they are charging for a exchange these days? Anybody have luck with them just replacing despite being out of warranty? I purchased from REI but I believe their new policy is 1 year.
You should try contacting Garmin. They are usually good about helping and it sounds like they’d need to be the ones to fix this anyway, since it might be hardware related. Their customer service is good for such a large company.
I had an issue with my Fenix 2 and it needed to get sent back to Garmin. When I did that, they were great and my replacement came quickly. I have since bought a Fenix3 HR anyway.
had a similar issue with my fenix 2 about a month ago. at first the elevation readings where way off, called garmin they had me do a reset, no change. called a few days later and they had me manually set it, still had issues. a few days after that and it wouldnt even get a gps signal, let it sit outside for over an hour and nothing. it was outside of warranty so they couldnt/wouldnt do anything except offer me a refurb with a 90 day warranty. best of luck and let me know what happens

Latest firmware caused me some problems initially. I powered down and then back on, and seems to fine again now.
The latest update screwed mine. I contacted customer services, and they’re replacing it (no charge, but I’m not in the US).
Prior to doing that I:
tried turning it off and on again;
re-uploaded the update;
did a hard reset
I also tried leaving it outside in clear view of the sky for a good 30 mins after each of the above fixes.
After all of that didn’t work, I contacted CS. They were OK about it. I don’t think I was the first to contact them. Garmin forums have a long thread on the issue.
