Femoral retroversion and osteotomy?

Hey folks. Have any of you ever had or currently have femoral retroversion? It’s where your femur is externally rotated. I have been having chronic unresolved patellofemoral pain for 2 years now. I have tried every treatment known to man, including a failed surgery, and nothing has helped, though sometimes PT did to a minimal degree. I went to HSS in NYC and the docs think my retroversion is causing this chronic pain. I’m glad I’m getting somewhere, only problem is the fix. Since it is an issue with the bone, they have to surgically untwist it. PT wouldn’t help since it is not a soft tissue issue. The Doc is the best in the world with this issue, and explains how many cases go unoticed by orthos and PTs since structurally, the knees themselves are fine and there are no obvious deformities. So has anyone had this issue and had a femoral derotational osteotomy ? Did it get you out of pain, AND, we’re you able to return to impact sports? Thank you
