someone at felt is watching too much american chopper.
You look at a Selle Italia Flite and think that you could ride it all day, then the Lay-Z-Boy of Bicycles is presented and you wonder how you could ride it?
That bike is made for comfort, not speed.
We should have called it Suzy.

That is one way to screw up your brand.
Not if you plan to be the next schwinn.
These are new, and more to come. Man, this stuff JUST went up on their website.
Felt’s cruisers are very fun. Cool coffee-getters and book store bikes. They are much better looking in person. We got the up close and personal at Interbike. I was like, “Whoa, this is cool…”
I see people being excited by these. Very fun. Lots of cool details too.
I love the Navy cruiser. Awesome…reminds me of Corregidor. Would look great to park on your porch when not being used to get groceries.
The fighter pilot in me likes the Baron… But the baggy shorts, flip-flop wearin’ guy likes the Lead Sled. Hmmmm… I’m going with the Lead Sled.
We bought a couple Red Barons. I actually think they had to use a different name didn;t they? Wasn;t the “Red Baron” some protected trademark?
At any rate, the bike is cool. The California surf bike is cool too, whatever that is called. Man, I haven;t even seen them on the website. I gotta check it out.
Hmmm, looks like they bagged the surfer one and replaced it since Interbike. The Speedway is the hottest one IMO. Full- on NASCAR. That is the ultimate pit-bike.
Just an FYI, Globally, Felt has done these cruisers for years. They outsell Schwinn and Electra, and have been a huge hit since their release. This isn’t a shot in the dark “everybody else has one” idea. I rode a Red Baron around last July 2003 and begged for them to bring them to the USA.
The 1903 and Lil’ Bastard are two of my favorites, my wife would love to get the FB.
Each bike has a story behind it. A short historical inspiration or relavant cultural connection. From the 1930s Navy to the GenX/Y Punk Rock “Flyer”.

Where do you attach the aero bars, and will my HED 3s work with one of these? ; )

Actually John, since I beleive we are in the same age category, I think this type of bike is ideally suited for you…
Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
That is probably the longest chain I’ve ever seen on a bike. Looks like it needs a back rest on the seat.
You guys are all nuts. While the Little Bastard is pretty damn cool, and I really dig both the Lead Sled and the Scythe, THIS is the best looking ride on the entire Felt website.
I’ll take two, please

“That bike is made for comfort, not speed.”
I have some bad news for you. That bike is probably about as comfortable as sticking your head into a Fry-Grandpappy. Half an hour on that thing and you’ll be begging for a tri setup.
I saw a couple of the red Baron’s in Denmark this past summer. Damn that’s a badass bike! A lot of folks say ‘i don’t need a bike like that…’ So they don’t get one. Its not a utilitarian bike. Its a bike thats good for the soul. If people realize that, then sales of the chopper/cruiser bikes will go through the roof.
You must not have ridden one. I couldn’t stay off of it at the trade show. It was my lounge chair after spening 13 hours on my feet talking bikes.
I could fall asleep on that bike.

Not that particular bike, no. But my general experience with bikes and motorcycles that sport a slung back posture where your feet are forward of your hands and you sit hunched over is that they are great while you’re sitting idle, but you can’t ride them for more than half an hour or so.
I’m actually looking for a cruiser that is both cool looking and comfortable for riding, so if this bike is comfortable(and not obscenely priced) and can be ridden, I’ll take a look at it.
We may be doing a “Torch” version of the bike with a multispeed internal hub. Find a shop that has them and see if you can make the posture work. The Lead Sled might not be the best choice for a brisk 30 minute ride, but the other bikes are very functional.
