Ok, so I think i have narrowed my bike search, I got a Fit done and both fit me pretty darn well.
Felt IA 14 ($3,999)
Scott Plasma 10 ($3,999)
thoughts? flip a coin?
Which of the two bikes makes you want to ride it more? Go with that one…
If you ride in windy conditions the Felt should be faster although it may (not sure) be less stable.
I think I’d prefer the felt cockpit too. At that price I presume that is NOT the Plasma with integrated water and bento box? The IA has the built in bento box (or CalPac) although I don’t think it’s well implemented - cover doesn’t provide good access and can reportedly fall off. the IA does have good options for mounting bottles and/or other accessories with down tube, seat tube and rear of seat tube mounting points.
Some love the IA appearance, others hate it.
Correct, not the Plasma with the integrated stuff. thanks for your input. I like the flexibility of the Scott in regards to the bento box as opposed to the Felt decision made for you.
anyone else know any pros or cons that are not readily apparent?
Scott Plasma is UCI legal if you ever plan on doing any UCI events, though I am assuming that if you’re looking at the Felt IA then this is not a concern of yours.
im 50/50 on the UCI legal thing. my current bike is UCI legal should I ever want to upgrade that in order to do a TT (which I would) so not a huge deal.
