Felt IA seat post light

Any idea what light will fit the IA seat Post? My bontrager Flare doesn’t even come close

it is a doozy. I had the Garmin Varia with multiple bands holding it but that was not ideal. I know someone on EMJ 3D printed a bracket that fit around the seat post. That worked well but not mass produced.

My IA16 (2017) came with a removable mount for this purpose.
Little plastic strap that clamped tothe seatpost abd had a mount on it for reflector or light.

Looked almost identical to this. Not sure if felt would sell it or perhaps this will work.

I was using bands for two years and then a band broke and the mount busted when it hit the ground. I knew there had to be a better mounting option so I researched on Shapeways to see what was made. There is a vendor MadBikeSkills that makes so many cool little parts and mounts for every bike EXCEPT the IA. I emailed him and he said he tried to either get the measurements of the seat post or an actual seat post from Felt and they said something along the lines of, nobody will need a part like that. So needless to say the mount was never made for the IA but he said if I cut off a small portion (like an inch) of my seat post he would be able to make one. I thought about it but then decided to use the mount that JustTooFar referred to. I took that mount and then a small Garmin mount and connected them and it works perfect. I did have to drill holes in the Garmin mount to get it to face the right direction for my Varia. It works great now. To get into the storage box I do have to take off the mount though so I keep a small screwdriver/allen wrench in my calpac. I don’t have a picture to post but could get one if you’d like to see it. Also, if you do end up sending in some seat post and he makes the mount then let me know. I’d buy one of those for sure.

I am using a flair on my IA bike my bike shop installed a grommet on the backside of the seat post used a screw to attach the flair.

This is what I do (the light is on a CO2 cartridge)- probably not the best solution but it works pretty well and I haven’t lost a light yet in over a year.

I’ve just designed a GoPro type seat post mount for the Felt IA. I need to test print it first and make sure the go pro mount fits properly.
For those that use the Garmin Varia light you’ll be able to use the Tuson Varia Mount adapter
I’ll be selling them for $65 a piece.

I use this to mount my varia

I’m able to get it 3d printed by a different printing service for much less. It will be available on Shapeways.com in the next day or two.

Price will be $50 but will require the use of part of this mount to attach to the seat post mount

I thought I’d add my solution as I researched a bunch of options including those in this thread. I ended up going with a seat mount.

Huge thanks to yannb for getting this posted- I went ahead and ordered it:

Question- did you actually use this on an IA seat post? The reviews on that look kinda sketch, but it’s hard to tell.

I did and it fits the wide post. It comes with a little rubber attachment that if you take it out gives you enough clearance. I use the attachment on my Cervelo S3 post that is less wide. The Boa style attachment is legit too; quite the contraption.

Thats awesome- thanks for that!
