Does anyone know of a bike rack for a sedan that will work with a Felt IA? So far it seems impossible because of the frame.
What makes the IA frame unique that it can’t work with a hitch rack like a 1Up or roof rack like a Sea Sucker?
I have a sedan in a low parking garage so I think a hatch is the only option for me, but I don’t see any available for that frame.
Can you not put a receiver in your sedan for a proper hitch rack?
Another option could be the Thule Raceway Platform. It’s probably the closest thing to a hitch rack that you can strap to your trunk. The weight of the bike is in the wheels/platform and not suspended by the top tube.
I had one for a while. It was heavy and a pain to take on and off.
I prefer keeping my bike in the car. I have a small car (e46 m3) but any of my mountain, gravel, road, or TT bikes can fit in the trunk with the seats folded down and a wheel off. If I had a sedan without folding seats, I’d toss it in the back seat with one wheel off.
Put a hitch on the car and then get a tray style bike rack that clamps onto the top of the tires to lock it in.
I found that to be a good route as well.
I use a seasucker kind of support for my IA on a corolla. Feels more solid when the fork is on the backend of the rooftop and the backwheel over the trunk.
For a very long trip (over 300 miles) I added some towing straps to a regular roofrack.

Thanks for the ideas!
I always “felt” my IA was a little bit of a sail when on my hitch rack behind my Civic. Behind an SUV it feels a little more protected. I’d probably lean towards putting it in the trunk for short trips or putting it on the roof after you pull out of the garage for longer trips. Granted I don’t know anything about how annoying that would be…
Highly recommend quikr stuff’s rack. Wish I’d paid for it years ago.
