Anybody out there with an 08 DA or B2 have a weight for the Bayonet fork? The framesets are listed on Felt’s site at 1079g and 1288g, I am assuming that is the frame-only weight. Anybody have a chance to weigh with the Bayonet or just the bayonet system by itself?
btw I know weight doesn’t matter in long events but there are a couple of events of interest to me where it does matter (I have done the math).
Thanks in advance for any help.
Have you checked www.weightweenies.com ? It probably appears in their listings.
You’ve got the wrong link listed… this is the right one:

Felt, unlike most bike companies, list acurate weights in their catalogs. If I remember correctly, they claim 1060g -ish for a 56cm DA frame, no idea on the fork.
a stock 60cm DA w/o pedals weigh 16lbs, 7oz.
Yeah I looked at that - funny thing about weight weenies - there are almost no listings for TT equipment or anything aero for that matter, despite the fact that aero beats weight on 9 out of 10 courses.

The TOTAL weight calculation is a tough one to do as there is no addtional steerer tube on the Baynet, however the fork is heavier depending on size and is actually made to meet the demands of each frame size. i.e. the fork on the 52cm frame is different than the fork on the 60cm frame, it isn’t “one size fits all” mentality.
I’ve got a fork here on my desk from a 54cm frameset, on my pot scale it’s 493 grams.
Now on another brand, a 54cm frame’s fork might be heavier than one of a 60cm depending on the amount of steerer tube used, the number of spacers, etc.
I’d like to see the course where 160 grams of steerer tube weight makes a difference over the aero and stiffness benefit!

Got to remember that Weight weenies is Euro-based. They have more climbs and less most people on the site are NOT triathletes. But trust me, they have more toys and mention companies Triathletes have no clue about (IE. THM, M2 and the like). Also, most people in the UK don’t use tri specific bikes, but road bikes with clip-ons. The culture is very different.

Thanks for the tip, I’m well aware of the culture of the weight weenie, the conditions that they use to judge equipment, the demographics of their passion, and their persistant recollection of the climbs in their area where for 8km of the 1000kms they’ll ride that their choice in lighter-at-all-costs equipment has some merit.
