Anybody own one or/familiar with this? I’m looking into puchasing one and am looking for some opinions. Again, thanks in advance. Dave
I am lucky enough to work for Felt and if you’d like my opinion, I’d be happy to go over the bike’s highlights. Did you have specific questions?

Hi dave… will there be any difference between the 2006 and 2007 model? thanks, dave
Picked one up back in Sept. I’ve had a 5200 and a Calfee Tetra Pro. I like it as well as the 5200 and it was considerably cheaper. I could kick my own tail riding the F4 over the Calfee, but the Calfee frame was too big. F4 is a stiff and responsive frame. It will jump if you’ve got the legs. I would have spec’d it with better wheels. The Shimano 550’s will become trainer wheels by the spring. All in all it will be plenty of bike no matter whose engine is powering it.
Yes, quite a few actually.
The frame gets a new finish, it’s a big cosmetic difference, a couple of grams lighter.
The fork is lightyears better. It is a in-house designed full carbon fork with extra attention paid to make it torsionally stiff yet still offer some vertical compliance. It is actually pretty advanced, and we use the same shape and design in the F1 frameset. The '06 F4c had an alloy steerer tube.
The bar and stem are updated, the stem gets a little lighter, but the performance gains are minimal.
The shifters and derailleurs are the same.
The cranks get a big performance boost in going to Shimano Ultegra 10 speed 53/39 from the FSA Omegas.
Braking duties are now handled by Shimano, a task left to Tektro on the '06
The wheels are the lighter, stiffer version of the previous Shimano model. Tires are unchanged.
Overall, there are some changes that we’re very proud of (like the fork) and some changes that will really be noticed on a back to back test (cranks and brakes) and of course there are changes that we like to market, but you’ll probably not notice without a gram scale.
Happy Shopping!

hey dave-
Sorry about the hijack
I usually see you at all the local fast rides. How come no Rogers Cup on sunday? - E
I’ve was in the gym a bit in early winter and hurt my back pretty badly (again). Getting on the bike isn’t too uncomfortable, but I’ve had very little strength in my right leg since so the hammerfest rides are out for me for a while. I hope to be back out there again, just need to sort out my options w/ my back and decide what to do.

I am selling a new Felt CA1 road bike with tri setup. If interested go to www.insideoutsports.com and look up the listings under the trading post. It is a 54cm. It’s a great bike, but I bought it as second bike and it’s going to waste in the garage.
SD - i’m anxious to see the new finish. are there any pics available and when will these bikes be available? thanks, dave

One last question Dave, Is there a difference between the F4 and F4C?
Dave
Yes, I detailed the differences above, was there something specifically that you want further explanation on? The frames are the exact same shape, although as I mentioned there are differences in the materials.
