I know, I know. I should go and get myself fitted before I go out and buy a TT bike. But it’s not really an option at this moment. I’m 178 cm(5 ft 10,5 in) and ride an Orbea Orca size 54. I have an option to buy a Felt B2 in size 54 and the million dollar question is whether it will fit me or not. I will be using the bike for TT’s, so shorter efforts. I’ve always heard that you should get a size smaller than your normal bike, but when I go to the Felt site it says I should fit a 54 or 56.
So do you guys think I will fit a 54, or should I try to find one in 52 and get a more compact position?

Not enough to go on, but yea, you could probably make a 54 work.
I am 5’11", I ride a 56 Cervelo road bike and 54 Felt B2 TT bike. You should be fine with a 54, but make sure you have a range of stems (you can order these from Felt if the bike doesn’t come with them).
I’m about the same height, maybe a nick taller. Inseam matters as well as torso length. My inseam is a 33 or so. I ride and have ridden several Felt’s, including a B2 all in 56cm. Sounds like a 54 should be fine.
I’m 5’11’ and had a 52" Felt B12 - then the frame cracked and it was replaced with a 54" B2 Comp (components from my B12 transferred - both 2008) - this was the only option available to me after a long wait for a replacement, so had to go with it. To be honest, it worked out better as with the 54" I don’t feel so ‘perched’ upon the bike. I went for a fit on the 54 and it was deemed the right size for me, so not sure why the 52" was recommended in the first place - I have shorter legs and a longer body, so perhaps that was an influence. My Cannondale road bike (bought more recently) is 54" as well (got stranded with it a long way from home today thanks to a bent wheel - but that’s another story).
