Feet/foot movement- pronation question

With all the different kinds of foot movements, i`m not sure what my right foot is because i never realized that my right foot would hit the part below of my left shoe, not so much with my precisions because of its minimalist design plus i do my faster runs in them compared to my adidas suernova(cushions) wherein that part of the shoe is almost muddy black and on my wave creations wherein the fabric has been scraped by a sharp blade which i do my long/easy runs in. does this mean i am an overpronator (right foot) i run midfoot and the wear on my shoes are on the mid foot/forefoot area but whenever i run easy, i tend to hit that part of my shoe --chances are the sole of my right shoe is hitting that part of my shoe where my thumb is, the whole crest from where my thumb is to almost where the laces are is dirty.

Run-on sentence describing a run on shoe?

Seriously, I can’t tell anything from the photo or your description.

after reading some more, not sure if i overpronate or not but my right foot is flatter than my left foot, i only wear neutral run shoes because the ones with medial posts would normally hurt my arches.

At what exact point in your stride do your two feet touch when you run?? when one foot is coming forward, the other foot should be hitting the ground for the pushoff…

i’ll occasionally scrape my shoe on the inside of my calf muscle but shoe to shoe? yikes

Wow, your post is very difficult to read/understand. You’re basically saying that one of your feet swipes the inner part of your other foot when you are running as the feet pass by each other during your stride? If that’s incorrect interpretation, please correct me. That is odd - do your feet cross the over the midline of your body when you are running?

Dennis - perhaps rather than have ST’ers guessing as to the cause of this, I believe you’re addressing a dynamic condition. To me, where you belong is on the treadmill of the store where you normally buy your shoes. Maybe even have a friend video it while the store “shoe gurus” watch your gait pattern. This can help you/them define your specific gait and what, if anything, would be the next step in foot wear choice and modification.

Thanks doc - that i plan on doing once i get the chance but just wanted to share what i`ve noticed recently

@spacebabe - basically thats whats happening but whats odd is i dont even feel my right foot/shoe hitting that part of my left foot so its not as if i`m trying to trip myself whenever i stride forward
