As we were leaving the wife says to me “it’s too bad you don’t have legs like that. Then you could shave to!!”
LOL…sounds familiar;)
One of my current favorites is:
"i guess that is why the japanese can make 5 cylinder roadrace gp bikes that make 220 hp and weigh the same as a bicycle and in wisconsin we make harleys that make 40 hp, weigh as much as a two story house, and use tractor technology from “green acres” by T-T-N.
not sure if it was on slowtwitch or some other tri website, but, one of my recent favorites was from Scott Molina…

also from this forum, one way or another…
“Know for a certainty that, that once the gun goes off, all your nervousness will evaporate and, in very short order, will prove to be the least of your worries.”

I might not have this exact, but it went something like this: “Dno’t kompomize. Innsisst on optimmum phit. Don’t buy Cvrello, you brainwahshed, mnidless peeple.”
“Why du yuo all gangg up onme?”
because it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. As in anything.
“While pain is inevitable, misery is optional”
If I could find that quote on a T-Shirt I’d buy it in a second. It reminds me of a fav. old tee I once had that someone liked so much it disappeared from my inventory.
“Drugs are for people who can’t handle ADRENALINE”
One of my Fav triathlon quotes is from Mark Allan aka The Grip.
I was interviewing him for a magazine article prior to IMH in 1993. There had been some speculation going into the event about his fitness. He had gone on a bit of a crash course to get ready for IMH that year to defend his title. I asked him what type of training he had been doing to get ready for the race. His response:
“I would tell you all about the training, but then I would have to kill”!
I am pleased to report that he did say this with a big smile on his face, but no further information about the training was given.
Let me set the stage, its like stage 11 of the 1999 Tdf, Lance just took the yellow on the TT the day before, he’s climbing Sestries, and i think it was Paul who said, “Lance is going to win this stage and go minuites ahead of the field because of it tooo.” I’ll never forget that, i still get goosebumps.
said in best Bill Murray imitation about an hour into our Sunday long-ride, rain dumping on us:
“I’d keep going…I don’t think the heavy stuff’s going to come down for awhile yet.”

My favorite is on a nike tshirt attributed to Lance Armstrong.
" I now only have good days and great days"
It got me through my back surgery.
“If you believe in yourself and have dedication and Pride and never quit, you will be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards”
“*** I can do anything through He who gives me Strength.”***

At the beginning of one of the final climbs on a mtn stage of last year’s tour de france, Phil Liggett said of George Hincapie:
“Georgie has done fantastic work today. He is sliding off the front of the pace line, and now all he has to do is drag his giant carcass up the mountain…”

when all is said and done, more is said than done.
I have three from my favourite finger puppet character, Son of Bun:
“He’s got two arms and two legs, #@$% him!!! He can get a job!!!”
“Get off the street and off of the bottle, you #@$%ing bum!!!”
“I’m going to give him a piece of my mind and ask for it back!!!”
my favorite:
“If I could only be half the person my dog thinks I am”

“I try my best to be just like I am, but everybody wants you to be just like them” - Bob Dylan

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light - not our darkness - that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
