Favorite recovery drinks after your bike session?

Clif Shot’s French Vanilla is really the only one I’ve tried, and Accelerade…what are some of your favorites?

2% Chocolate milk with a handful of whatever chips/cookies are within reach.

Accelerade, is made to consume durring exersize… endurox is excellent. The chocolate flavor uses the same stuff as yoohoo… it tastes great.
I actually read an article in the new VeloNews that Chocolate Milk far beats out every drink on the market… they did some kind of study… check it out.

Cytosport’s Muscle Milk! Tastes just like a milkshake and comes in a gazillion different flavors.

Ovaltine.

Venti Vanilla Non-fat Latte…290 Calories, 3:1 ratio of carbs to protein, plus that nice espresso “kick” :slight_smile:

Endurox works and tastes great. Has all the muscle rebuilding and refueling stuff necessary. I use it after every workout and I am certain it works.

Choc Milk or Endurox.

vanilla protein shake w/ soy milk, whey protein, blueberries and banana.

Ditto on the chocolate milk or Ovaltine.

I’ve been craving lemonade after workouts lately… not sure if that counts or not :stuck_out_tongue:

chocolate milk is always good.

I have been mixing endurox into chocolate milk for my recovery drink for 5 or 6 years. Yummy!!!

Endurox is great, as is chocolate milk. Has anyone used Hammer’s Recoverite on a regular basis? I’ve used it some, and it also seem very good.

Shaklee Physique. Add a little ice cream and yummmmmm.

Infinit recovery drink beer, whatever i feel like (although, i think Guiness works the best, don’t always drink that in the high heats though) protein shake with banana and 1/4 cup of raw whole oats, all blended up together

skim milk - i’ll drink around 8 oz, not much.
and a large glass of 1/3 OJ, 2/3 H20.

gotta kind of space the two out, there’s no particular order, the water & oj combo usually comes first, assuming i’m somewhat thirsty.

Second the lowfat chocolate milk. Somewhere on here there was study posted that said chocolate milk actually helps recovery more than endurox.

I say avoid that expensive fake food crap like Endurox and drink something real. Or at least mostly real. I like the milk suggestions, including chocolate and soy. Throw in a bannana, some ice, a little protein powder, and blender it.

Um, sorry, but that’s Coors my friend. Not acceptable. I think you would be better served by a real Belgian White like Hoegaarden.

Domestically, Ommgenang Witte has to be a winner, as is Victory Whirlwind. Why not give Magic Hat Circus Boy a try, if you’re looking for something citrusy??? Southampton is now bottling their Belgian White Ale as well, which is very good. I’ve heard good things about Allagash.

I myself like Dogfish Head 60-Minute IPA.
