I’m in the market for some clip-on aero bars for my road bike. I am trying to find a set that is draft legal, so it has to be short enough to sit behind the ends of the hoods and must be bridged across the front. I am also trying to find something with as little stack as possible, or a set that does not have arm pads as I have a 3T ergonova bar that is comfortable enough to rest my forearms on. I really just need 6 extra inches of bar with which to help handle the bike… Anyone know of any bars that magically fulfill all of these requirements?

Vision Tech Clip on aerobars and they are very easy to cut

I’ll preface this by saying if you make a pack in draft legal you don’t need bars.
I use the control tech bars.
I really just need 6 extra inches
What’s that you say?
…well played.
Profile Design T2+ DL… a bit bigger than some but VERY comfortable compared to the Vision mini TT, etc… I have a set laying around that I maybe could sell if interested. I used them once. I haven’t had a road bike for a while but I keep holding onto these for some reason. My inner being says I’ll use them for an ITU race again some day but in reality probably won’t.
I have to concur on the Profile T2+ DL. You will likely have to trim them back a bit to be legal but it’s easy to do. They’re solid, sit right atop your road bar and fairly comfy.

Similar but with lower stack is the ZBS DL. I have used the ZBS s-bend (not DL) and they were good. I am not convinced that the Profile arm rests are well suited to a short, draft legal application though. The armrests are quite large and bulky; suitable for near your elbows but I am not sure how well they would work closer to your wrists.
I have some barely used Profile Design T2+ bars I’d sell you. I put them on for a handful of IOS rides and one or two races but couldn’t ever get comfortable on them–I like to have aerobar pads under my elbows, and the only way I could do that while still keeping the bar ends behind my shift levers was to put the pads aft of my handlebars. Unfortunately, this got in the way climbing.
If you’re less picky about that stuff then you’re welcome to try them…
I use the Vision Mini TT’s. The bridge between the bars is useful (to me - and those who generally ride one hand on top of the other anyways) and they were priced right.
Like all bars though, a lot is what YOU find comfortable.
I actually have a set of the T2+ already and ran into the same issues. I guess I’ll just experiment with some, the vision bars seem like a good option
Ah. Yeah the knee thing annoyed the crap out of me. I think they’d be perfect if the T2+ came with the Airstryke-style flip-up armrests, or rotating armrest pads like on the old 3T aerobars. The other thing that bothered me was the armrest cup. I guess I’ve gotten used to the feel of the Vision TT bars after riding them since 2006, but I always felt like my arms were going to roll off the outside of the PD aerobars. My forearms have just never felt secure on PD bars period, airstryke, carbon stryke, and now the T2+
