would it be a good idea to have a FAQ section? It seems that the same question comes up over and over such as Hed vs Zipp, tubular vs clincher and etc.

That’s what the search function is for.

After a while we’d get the following error message:

I’ll second this one. Maybe because I’m a lousy searcher.

Did you check the wiki section?

a FAQ section would be great, but honestly, what would we put in there? We could put stuff like the definition of a 650c and 750c wheel, weights of parts (that’s what weightweenies site is for), caloric info, bike fit referrences…

But the vast majority of the stuff brought up on this forum is based on users opinions and experiences such as the HED versus Zipp, tubular versus clincher, aero helmet versus standard helmet, what brand of gel is the tastiest, who’s the hottest poster on ST, and so on and so on. This stuff will never be honestly settled as there is no clear cut criteria for judgement. Thus, the reason we have this forum.

There are several books out there on tri that serve sort of like a FAQ database, but again because most of these FAQs are based on opinion balanced by a few stats and some experience, you have to take everything with a grain of salt (I prefer Endurolytes, versus plain salt but again that would be hard to define as being a definite)

95% of the new content on here is regurgitated. Nobody would be here if they were looking for fresh content. If ST were nothing more than a massive database full of facts and figures we’d all be reduced to hanging out and arguing with our spouses.

What about the slowtwiki thing that was started a while back?

Screw Off!

We could have a link that says, “Is my seat too high?” and when they click it, it says “Yes.”

That’s what I find. You can’t narrow it down.

That too.

I guess it’s just too tough for those of us with double nickel ages.

Good point! But we have our own thread going. Even Dan got in on it.(50-54… or more)

Try searching for a specific race report, e.g. IMoo 2005 race report. You get way too many hits. It would be great if you be directed to a date range, or a page range sometimes.

I dunno. But how do you post a picture??

Sign up for www.photobucket.com or www.tinypic.com and upload a picture of your choice. Once it is stored on their site, copy the address of the picture and pase it here, with before it and {/IMG} after it, but replace the last one with a bracket around the /IMG.

Twas a joke… common thread.

Well, dammit, where was your smiley!?

I take offense to your post.
