Looking for recommendations for a fan while using trainer inside garage

or something like it. Get a big industrial one for the garage. Especially if you live in the south.
Stanley industrial blower. Worth every penny.
If you’ve got the money, the Wahoo one. Once it’s connected it to your HR strap, the steps are:
- Turn on
- Forget about it

The remote is great so you can start off with it off / on low, then turn up as the sessions get serious and down at the end as you are spinning down. The three jets are all separately positionable to hit face / torso / legs, and each separately controlable. So I tend to have the one on face only on 2/3 as 3/3 feels like a gale and my eyes dry out, but the gale on the torso and legs keeps me cool for zwift crit races. Normally I only need 2/3 fans unless it’s in the upper 20degrees outside.
Also remote control oscilation means we can move between the bikes side by side.
One the style of the Stanley blower mentioned above. I have an Air King as well and while it blows perhaps a wider gust of air, the volume of air is not close to the Stanley style blowers. The Air King is louder as well.
As for remotes, I just buy the cheap outlet remote controls on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Century-Wireless-Electrical-Christmas-Appliance/dp/B01NASZ0UM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=remote+outlet+control&qid=1623363227&sr=8-1).
You can’t adjust fan speed with them, but you can pre-set your desired speed then turn it on while on the bike when you need it. I actually have three fans set up on mine. One to the left blowing across my body, one head on blowing over my face, shoulders and torso and one behind me. I usually just run the one to the left, but when it gets nasty I can selectively turn them on when I need them and have all three of them going by the end of the session.
You could get 2 or three fans plus the remotes for the price of the Wahoo fan. And once you start overheating, you won’t want your fan to slow down even if you are doing an easy recovery period between harder intervals.
I have about 8 guys in my garage. Our favorite of alll these in the rowenta turbo silence. It’s quite, has a remote, and moves a lot of air. Be sure to get the bigger one I own 3 and once bought a smaller shorter one on accident. It got knocked off a barstool and broke. The rest are tall with stable bases

This is almost Identical to what I have, only I’m using Lasko blowers. We have a Wahoo fan; I found the its column of air is too narrow, I don’t like that it’s angle can’t be adjusted, and it’s noisier then the Laskos, while moving less air. The Amazon smart plugs work great.
It blows 250 cfm at low, I wouldn’t want to go any weaker. The Stanley above is 350cfm
I use a Lasko Windmachine, stacked on top of a couple of milk crates.

A blower will shoot a lot more air at you that a fan - there’s no comparison - but its very concentrated (like laser vs. flashlight).
you can point it at your face or chest and you are guaranteed to be dry
I find that adding a fan that moves all the air around me in addition to a blower is the perfect combination

I’ve got one and it’s not worth the money. I always just turn it to 100% and it’s still not enough to cool you during a 2x20 at FTP. I require an additional fan on top of the wahoo.
I race with a pretty competitive team on Zwift, and we all have at least one of these. Highly recommend.

What model is that. I’ve looked at the lasco but there are several models all with similar descriptions but none with a detailed spec sheet. I want the one that moves the most air…
I got this one at Costco but you can also buy it at Amazon. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Woozoo-5-speed-Globe-Warranty-1Count/dp/B08GDDF56H/ref=asc_df_B08GDDF56H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=508013997015&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6048752354555280806&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9029750&hvtargid=pla-1260109727926&psc=1.
It’s a tiny fan but super powerful and you can control it with an included remote. Much better and quieter than using a box fan.
I have both the yellow and gray Lasko blower fans. The specs are hard to find and though they are different on these two I cannot tell the difference when on the trainer or treadmill. We also take them in our camping trips.
I also have the small circular fan from the post immediately above and though I like it for use at my standup desk I would not personally use it for trainer or treadmill workouts as it just doesn’t move the same amount of air and velocity.

Meh. If you don’t like burning money, here’s what you want:

I have one of those massive ventilator fans, that I had used for my BTN (Bike To Nowhere) for years, thinking it was the shizzit.
This little fan literally blows it away.
I have it set up on a table, so that the breeze is adjusted to hit me in the face and torso.
It works amazingly well. Bonus! It’s less noisy than the huge ventilator fan too.
Even doing hard interval workouts on Sufferfest, I wasn’t soaking wet like I’d normally be on the trainer.
Haven’t needed to use the highest setting, low or medium typically sufficient.

beat me to it.
this amazon fan is FANTASTIC. pun intended. it moves a lot of air in a very specific direction / cone. the elec outlets on the side are great too for running usb cords up to a desk for ipads and phones and such.
i also have the wahoo fan (i use this one for my indoor cycling setup), and i do like it and love the bluetooth feature so i can speed it up and slow it down while on the bike, but thats not really necessary if you’re pinching pennies.

I think a large axial fan is the way to go…and probably cheapest too.
I keep seeing everyone suggest these compact blowers and talking about how much air they move but that’s not the point. What you want is a large mass of air flowing over as much of your body as possible. not a jet of high velocity air hitting you in the face or chest. Effective cooling at high intensities depends primarily on forced convection facilitating evaporation of sweat from your entire body. Some areas are more important than others, but I see zero sense in using a localised high velocity flow at your face or chest versus a larger cross section, lower velocity flow that can flow over most of your body. We want a good flow rate with modest velocity (this can only be achieved with large cross section) and have no requirement to maintain a pressure differential. That plays to the strengths of axial, not centrifugal fans.
A high velocity jet may feel like it provides more cooling due to the contrast between those parts of your body it’s hitting and the rest, but I think it’s incredibly unlikely the end result is actually greater heat dissipation… and it’s less comfortable and healthy too.
I use two relatively cheap 3 speed 18" axial fans plugged into cheap Ikea “smart sockets”. They work just fine. More variable flow rates and fully functional remote control would be nice, but I don’t think most of the other blowers are better in that regard anyway. The socket remotes gives me On/Off per fan and that’s perfectly serviceable. If you want to spend significantly more money, you could always look for a fancier “wind machine” type axial fan that might have more control options, but I’m fine with what I’ve got.
