I just watched the two Menendez brothers shows on Netflix. One of the things they pointed out was how the trials were around the same time as OJ and and the Rodney King cops. It got me thinking, what were the famous trials of our time, and when were they? They seemed to be largely centered around good looking people, and also existed in an era that has since passed.

I’m often wrong on this kind of perception, which is why I’m asking. Off the top of my head, I remember:

Dred Scott, you know because I’m old and that’s where my mind went.

Kevin Coe 1981. He was the South Hill Rapist in Spokane. That’s local, but a pretty famous case. Throw in his crazy mom Ruth who tried to hire a hitman to kill the judge. There was a ton of coverage of the trials, and they ended up on Dateline.
