I ran across a website with something that appears to be too good to be true so I thought I would ask the experts here to educate me. Lets assume for a moment that the seller will deliver the wheels pictured at the advertised price and is not doing a bait and switch.
I have looked at the feedback from several sellers and they appear to be delivering the products and since you use Paypal you have some protection from getting taken.
My questions are:
Are the wheels pictured really Zipps? If not, how can you tell? If they are fake, stolen or whatever then how can we protect ourselves from these fakes when they hit the Ebay and ST used markets or your local bike shop?
Note:Though all brand goods selling on aliexpress are not original goods. They are made in China. But there is without any problem with the quality and appearance. We have many clients from different countries,Facts prove the goods are high quality.Pls don`t worry.

quite blatant…
also the hubs are novatechs (which actually isn’t too bad), but Boyd probably sells something better for less than $1k.
I print a lot of custom decals and have on several occasions had very sketchy sounding people approach me to print huge batches of zipp decals for them. Pretty sure that they were rebranding wheels. Anyways, flipped the emails to zipp. No idea what ever happened with it but yeah, obviously those are not zipp wheels. I purchase quite of a bit of stuff from China for my company and most of my contacts were originally made via alibaba (parent of aliexpress) but from my experience you get what you pay for. If you shop bottom dollar and push for rock bottom prices well you often get rock bottom quality stuff. Look around, give a bit of respect to the sellers and do a bit of homework and it’s a great way to do business.
BMW took a chinese company to court in China, for making fake X5’s. To a car guy you could spot the difference, but they were pretty close. The chinese judge basically said they weren’t a copy. BMW learned to not bother taking chinese knock off companies to court in China. Just not right
keep an eye on chainlove.com ever now and then they have real US made Zipp 404’s on there for about the same price $500ish front $700ish rear (shipping NOT included)
