Face Cream (men)

What type of face cream do you guys use after working out and showering? shaving, showering 3 times per day, chlorine and sweat is not doing my face any good. I tried Nivea face cream for men but doesn’t seem to last long and have to keep reapplying. Aftershave seems to make things even worse.
Any tips or suggestion on face cream? I don’t care if it says for men or for women as long as it doesn’t have menthol or any fragrance in it.

Thanks.

Rhonda Allison “moisture au lait”. You can get it at good spas. Leaps and bounds better than anything else that i’ve found. My skin takes a pounding from all of the abuse as well.

Clinique M gel-lotion, which I use after shaving. It’s light and soothing–quite unlike the Nivea Vitalift cream.

For cleaning the Clinique cleanse is nice, but I’ve just starting using Trader Joe’s tea tree facial cleanse. It’s great for oily skin.

Big fan of Kiehls products.

Agreed - although Nivea now has a face lotion that is a very similar consistency to Keihl’s (white = bad, opaque = good).

My ex swore by Kiehl’s and Elemis
.

You need something with either alpha hydroxy acid or retinol.

I like the Neutrogena SPF 15 with AHA. Have some with retinol as well, prefer the oe with AHA. I noticed an increase in smoother skin, less noticeable wrinkles in a few weeks. Others started noticing and complementing in about a month.

You are such a fecking chick!

Face cream is only half the solution. You also need to be doing a full cleaning on a regular basis. Buy a face scrub that has some exfoliating bits in it (St Ides Apricot scrub is particularly nice) and also a deep cleanser (Molton Brown or Malin + Goez or Kiehls are all good).

I use Kiehls Anti-Aging with SPF 15 - non greasy and lasts. For shaving - if you aren’t using a beard scrub and shave oil before using shaving cream (don’t go cheap), you will thank yourself for starting to use these. You don’t have to use them everyday, but 3 or 4 times a week will make a big difference. Follow it up with a good aftershave lotion.

GroomingLounge.com has lots of good options and are a very good company.

This all may sound like a bit of overkill, but it does make a huge difference.

Wow, I never knew how much men needed to take care of their face skin. I use the same soap on my face as on my bod and actually appreciate the dry feel. Add the chlorine smell and I’m double happy. I hate the moisturized face feel.

Has the AHA caused additional sun sensitivity? Or does the spf 15 help with that?

Want to try it over the winter here when it gets dry, but still spend a bit of time in the sun. Don’t want any redness or irritation.

OH. MY. GOD.

Ummm since its clear this post is for real…lavender room perhaps? That said perhaps my decrease in attention from the ladies is due to not giving a fuck about the above. Noted.

I have been using Every Man Jack Face Lotion, with SPF 15. I like it. And only $6.

I swear by the Vaseline product line, perfect balance between moisturizing without being too greasy and it is either scent free or extremely lightly fragranced with no lingering smell.

I use facial fuel and like it. Also has some spf in it!

Bioelements Crucial Moisture is a good one too.

I would not jump straight to regular use of retinol products(a little goes a long way). If you want to add moisture and repair your skin something with hyaluronic acid works perfectly. Wife is an esthetician, i frequently get called out on my lack of perfect skin care. Usually her recommendations are spot on.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Cetaphil. Doesn’t clog pores like vaseline does. Maybe you’re all past the point in your lives where you get acne, but for those who are acne-prone something non-comedogenic like cetaphil is a good choice. I technically use the CVS store brand version of this stuff since it’s cheaper, but I’ve used both and I can’t tell a difference. I use it on face and legs at least once a day and definitely every time I get out of the water (be it pool or shower).
