My left eye has been hurting the past couple of days (kind of a dull ache like it had been bruised), and woke up this morning to my eyelid being swollen over about 1/2 of the eye. It doesn’t itch so it doesn’t seem to be allergies.
I switched to in-socket / socket rocket goggles (very little silicon) about 50.000m / 6 weeks ago. I don’t remember any specific moment where I had to push them harder than normal into the socket, but can’t rule it out.
Anyone have a similar experience? Hoping the collective wisdom of Slowtwitch is better than a trip to the doctor.
I know you’ve ruled out allergies but it sure sounds like allergies to me. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, woke up one morning, felt like I had been punched in the eye, swollen eye lid, bloodshot. Had a headache all day too. Could be the goggles but I say allergy.
I had a similar eye swelling problem, it was during allergy season, but instead I blamed bacteria. After swimming, I usually just throw my goggles (and suit, and towel) back into my gym and let them sit for awhile. I washed out the goggles with soap and water at home, and no more eye problem. I now wash everything much more frequently. … Something to consider.

Sounds like more of an allergy or bacterial conjuctivitis? Pink eye will hurt, swell and drain. If it doesn’t go away, I would for sure see a doctor.
