Extreme humiliation II

With a nod to Matts post, I offer the following.

I was out Saturday on a 4 hour ride. I saved the last 30 minutes to do some hill climbing. While maybe 1/2 way into my hill repeats, I was standing, working the pedals, head down looking at my front tire and WHAM, I ran into a… effin parked car. Since I was still pedaling, I kept my forward momentum and started heading up over the handlebars. My areobars then hit the car bumper and I came back down onto my right hand. Luckily nothing is broken and I was only a block away from my home so I could limp home with my tail between my legs.

I was still able to run 8 miles on Sunday, that is good… just my typing this morning is a little labored.

I nominate myself for “Dork of the day”!

i know how you feel. my last one was a couple weeks back while up north chasing steelhead with the fly rod. made the obligatory stop at the local combo gas station, jerky outpost, bakery, pizzeria, sub shop…

had a big pop in a styro cup. thinking about what pattern to use on the fish and just not paying attention and went full bore smack dab into the glass panel…next to the door. left a noticeable mark on the forehead…pop went everywhere and i went down on my knees for a couple seconds while watching little blinking lights.

so right then a young woman and a couple kids walk in…of course they knew how to open the door. one of the kids pipes in, “mommy…why is that man praying…there?”

if that does not qualify as a dorky move…not sure what else would.

Man, a roadie reading about this and the earlier post about the Trek frame could get a impression about bike handling skills, ( insert smilly face)
.

Hey randall t, tell me that story again about you and the itty, bitty turtle? Was it one of those Mutant Ninja thingy-mabobs?

A roadie would nothing to say about my bike handling skills as I have none!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not the turtle!!!

That was my car, contact me with your insurance information before I contact the police and file hit and run charges.

Did I say car??? I meant tree.
