Experience with the LEVER Movement Treadmill device?

Recently suffered a back injury and trying to get back to it and came across this LEVER Movement treadmill device. Anybody with comments, feedback, experience, etc? I thought I recall seeing this in a TTL video maybe with Paula using it. Anyway, trying to do some research on it and thought I would check with the ST braintrust. Appreciate any feedback.

I have one. Although it’s a bit expensive, it’s outstanding IMO. It’s a great tool to allow you to continue running while getting over injury (I am very injury prone). And, I use mine even when not injured just to take some of the strain off my old bones.

I’m fortunate enough to work at a facility that hosts a Lever system, so I bought a pair of shorts and used it frequently during my build for IM St. George this spring. It took a little getting used to, as there’s definitely a system to using the pulleys and making sure the cord is moving freely, but I loved it. Helped me with volume, speed, and building resilience after time off of running.

I have experience running on an AlterG too, and found it to be comparable as far as results go. If you have a treadmill and a Lever is an option for you, I’d say absolutely get one.

Matt Hanson has a pretty solid video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st3z8cpM860

I’m usually pretty skeptical when athletes are shilling for any product that reaches out to them, but Matt seems to take a more science based approach to things.

Another happy Lever user here… my old knees really appreciate it, it allows me to run longer sessions without feeling beat up. It’s one of those simple yet effective training devices that I really appreciate.

For what it is, it’s on the expensive side, but I think it’s a good value for me.

Thank y’all for the feedback! Watching the videos now and doing some more research. Cheers

I got one last summer after meniscus surgery. Absolutely worth the money.

I own one. Decided to pay the money after a second stressfracture.
Worth all the money if you’re injuryprone and want to be able to lift your aerobic volume without ending up injured again.

However you should realize that it puts less train on your muscles, and thus induces less adaptation to exercise than running full bodyweight.

Anyone using the lever after hip replacement? I had my right hip replaced two years ago and in a few weeks will have my left replaced. Would like to think this could help me keep up the miles without all the pounding

Not specifically to your injury (sorry to hear about).

My wife had a terrible calf tear and the Lever was hugely important to return to running. We also use it for additional mileage and some over-speed work, so it’s not just about injury rehab.

I did, personally, use an Alter-G after breaking my hip (3 screws) and it was necessary for returning to sport and (I believe) helped speed my recovery. I have no doubt that the Lever would work in a similar fashion.

Disclaimer: I know the guys behind lever quite well.

Yes I have been renting one to begin jogging after PRP for hamstring tendinopathy. It is super easy to set up on a treadmill and get going on. I don’t have a treadmill at home so I take it to a rec center (it typically comes with a carrying case). It has really helped me to ease back into running while taking pressure off feet, knees, hamstring, etc.

Good luck!

I bought one not to recover from an injury but to prevent / delay me getting an injury. It is an amazing tool and I did a story about it on our ST home page.

Since I posted this feature they have refined the Lever device with adjustable attachment points on the front plus have improved the shorts.

Alter G or Boost are great tools too but impractical for home use and thus mostly found in sports therapy or pro team facilities.

I use the Lever regularly and would buy it again. And I run currently 50-70 miles a week

Good
.

Anybody have a discount code for the Lever? Thanks.

Just checking the list of compatible treadmills and it looks like the Lever will not work with my Landice that has downturned handlebars.

Thanks for the feedback……I am in Denver frequently to visit my daughter and grandkids so I will make the trip to Boulder to check them out. My scheduled surgery is 2/20 so around June I will be thinking about starting back to running.
