I had a spot removed on Monday. All stitches are internal. I could take a shower 24 hours after the procedure. Any guidance on when I can resume activity?

Now
I did an oly 5 days after a deep incision to remove a melanoma. Still had the stitches in. Worst that can happen is the stitches split and you just get sown up again. The melanoma is the bad bit and it’s (hopefully) all gone.
talk to your doctor. don’t ask us. I had a cyst removed on my chest with stitches that were internal. My doc said not to exercise but if I wasn’t going to listen, to at least take it easy when running. Well, I waited a day or two and went running and now have a nasty looking scar to show for it after the stitches busted open. The doctor visit after this happened was not so fun after my doctor told me “I told you this would happen”. Take time to recover
I have “a spot” removed once or twice a year (every time the dermatologist sees me he flips out). I’m usually working out in some way or another within hours, but I take a couple of days off of swimming. It’s not that I’m that concerned out about infection, more that I’m just polite. I did have one on my calf where there the skin was really taught and it scarred like crazy. If I have to get another one removed in an area like that, I might take it easy for awhile longer.
I’ve had several removed. I was running the next day when one was on my chest. I was running the next day with a few sutures in leg. I was running a week later on the larger one on my lower quad above my knee. Just depends where they are and if the sutures will rip.
I’ve had several large incisions with stitches in the middle of my back. I never missed a day of biking or running because of it and never had them rip open. Now I followed doc’s orders and stayed out of the pool until I was given clearance from the derma.
I was told the next day when I had my melanoma removed.
I’ve had several removed. Face I take off a couple weeks. Other then that depends on placement. Last one was front shoulder so I was told one week then indoor trainer would be ok, two weeks then could run. I think I waited 6 days and started running again. It felt tight but I just took it easy. I did take a month off swimming.
I work in infectious disease, so I would advise my patients to do activity as tolerated. I would stay away from gyms until wound is completely closed. They are breeding grounds for MRSA. I would probably stay out of pools for now too since it may macerate the wound and delay healing.
Before I worked in ID, I foolishly did an olympic tri after a deep excision of a mole that was positive for melanoma. Open water has some nasty bacteria. Luckily nothing happened
