Okay, just wondering if anyone is using excel to track training progress? What is the best spreadsheet to use to log the training?
Thanks for help!

I don’t know of any preready sheets, then again I have looked. But I do track my own progress via spreadsheet as in training distance and averages, times. When I remember I try to note changes so if I do something that consistently produces gain with a trend of speed I can try to pinpoint what is helping.
Just make your own!
Tip, excel does not have a formula for mph. Find your average by entering the bike time in 00:00:00 format and do the following:
=miles/(24*time)
If A1 held your miles, say 20. And B1 held your time, say 01:00:00. =A1/(24*B1) would produce the result of 20mph average in whatever cell you placed it.
Good luck!

To track progress or training load? IE somethings that might be referred to as CTL, ATL or other terms else where.
Basically there is a podcast on real coaching about how Paulo tracks both acute and long term training load simply within the context of minutes worked X some sort of RPE scale. No HR, no power, no pace etc.
There are a bunch of different ways you could create a pretty simple spread sheet around minutes and some sort of RPE scale.
Outside of that you could separately track your own “progress” in terms of measurable out come. IE hard data…hitting FTP markers, hitting power targets on longer rides, swim css or your own idea of what an important TT might be, run pace both at intensity and extension of intensity etc,
Lots of ways to make this easy or hard

If you want something free to track training what about Golden Cheetah?
If you just want a spreadsheet, you can make yourself a simple calendar if all you want to do is track training compliance with planned sessions.
If you want to go a little deeper and use a spreadsheet to calculate CTL, ATL, TSB etc then you can look at this and use/modify as required: http://www.coachcox.co.uk/2012/03/30/how-to-plan-a-season-using-the-performance-management-chart/

Thanks for help! This is exactly what I was looking after
How strong is your Excel fu? How good is your math? I created my own Excel book for this purpose, but if I gave it to you raw all it would do is confuse you. Here is a sample week:
In aggregate, these totals link to a summary page, which has graphs of metrics that matter to me longitudinally. If you can’t track it, you can’t improve it, and all that.

My skills in excel is pretty weak Do you plot the TSS etc. from each ride and or do you have some automatic formulas in the cells?
It’s automatic. It’s just a formula based on Normalized Power, FTP, and time. If your Excel fu is weak, not sure why you would want to use a spreadsheet to track your training. There are lots of programs out there to do all the work for you, if you’re willing to give up the control anyways
another option is www.triathlonlog.com it’s basically a google doc spreadsheet
