European marathon (late June/July)

Hey Slowtwitch,

Heading to Europe for le Tour this year (so freaking excited), and was keen to nut out a marathon/half marathon while over there.

Have done a quick google, but not too sure on what to go with - figured where else to go for something like this than the wise hive of Slowtwitch.

So - hit me! Any that people have done at this time of year that they have loved/hated, etc?

You can head to Scandinavia and hope for decent running conditions or do a mountain marathon in the alps.

Stockholm is in June and I’ve heard its wonderful. IIRC, race starts at 1:30 PM.

there is one in goerlitz june 2nd,(saxony;germany) where you cross the polish border during the run.

immenstadt marathon in the german alps beginning of june and munich hm end of june.

Thanks for the results guys - probs more keen for something in early July, and want to try and avoid the alps if possible (although I feel I may be missing out by doing so… :slight_smile: )

There is always Hamburg Triathlon. You can rent a bike for that.
