The Etape De Tour 2007 has just been published. I can’t believe it is on our doorstep. It starts at Foix to Loudenvielle going over the Col De Port, Col de Portet d’Aspet, Col de Mente and then the Port de Bales and Col de Peyresourde. This is a fantastic route and I will be waiting at the newsagents for the Velo magazine to come out.

Mt Ventoux would have been nice but the TTT and the Alp D’Huez are a little overated for me.
The starting stages through Belgiu should be great fun and then the Alps and Pyrenees will make up for all that flat stuff they had last year. I think it is a pretty good year myself

Are you talking about the 2006 Etape or 2005 as being ‘flat’? I did the 2006 Etape this year, and between climbing Izoard, Lautaret, and Alp d’Huez, I thought it was pretty damn hilly. But awesome as well.
Have you done the Etape? It is really cool riding with 9000 other cyclists.
Naaaa - I meant the whole tour not the Eape - Last years was pretty damn tough. We had a few people here training for it and they finished just in time, but they finished with huge smiles.
I do the Cyclosportives here - not as many as 9000 but lots of fun.
Will defo be doing the 2007.
L’Etape du Tour '07 Recon Ride
On Tuesday I rode the Etape stage, Foix to Loudenvielle - 196km with 5570m of ascent. It was tough and I sort of understimated its brutality, mentally destroyed by the 3rd climb but conquored it in the end.
