Can anyone recommend this/has anyone tried this?
Are there any possible adverse effects to trying it?
And what do I do…just pour the solution into a bucket and stick my foot in?

I have been trying to take a nice 20 minute bath on Sundays, my day off, after a tough week. I have used Dead Sea Salts I got when I was in Israel and I just bought a 6 pound bag of epsom salts last weekend. I do full bath because usually my quads and hammies are whats sore but I am sure soaking in a bucket would work too. Now I do not really know if it “works” but it is a nice way to relax and hell, it’s good for your skin! Go ahead and try it but beware if you take a bath you might fall alseep because it’s so relaxing. I do not know why there would be any bad side effects but I am no doctor.
I used it when I sprained my ankle. I just put my foot/ankle in a bucket of hot water with epsom salt. Of course it didn’t heal the injury, but it felt very soothing so I started doing it with both feet. I don’t recall any adverse affects of doing it.
sore joints epsom salts will work, also an alternative is magnesium oil. Samething really.
For sore joints try serrapeptase supplement it helps with lowering inflammation naturally as well as magnesium oil.
serrapeptase better alternative to those NSAIDS those are junk.
I take an epson salt bath at least 2-3 times a week for my sore muscles. I buy the bulk packaging at walmart. Sleep, Calm and Relax…its heavenly.
I never understood how soaking in Epson Salts (Magnesium Sulfate) helps with soreness. Magnesium, being a charged molecule, would have a hard time getting through the skin. It’s it just placebo? Would warm water just do the same thing?
One of our coaches here who has solid experience with elite volleyball players recommended baths using 2 cups of epson salts and 1 cup of baking powder. I have no detailed knowledge why this recipe nor can I provide any data but it seems to work better for my tired-ass old body that just a warm bath. Go with the bulk bags of unscented epsum salts otherwise cost is high.
Magnesium oil is magnesium chloride. It helps with joints somewhat goes directly to the targeted area through the skin, its a natural muscle relaxant. As i said serrapeptase will probably do a better job.
Also joint mobility exercises will help. Ankle circles, back/forth, working range of motion of the ankles, more flexible shoe, ankle curls with a light dumbbell etc…Thats only a few ideas
I tried this for my sprained ankle at the suggestion of someone else. It SEEMED like it helped, but like others have said, I can’t explain why or if it’s just mental. Felt great though. I stuck my feet in a large cat litter box with some warm water and Epson salt mixed in.
