A painful right Achilles has kept me from running since Thanksgiving. I’ve been going to PT and doing eccentric heel drops with increasing weight (up to 35 lbs in the backpack). Pool running and the elliptical don’t bother it, riding the trainer can bother it but not always. My right calf also has a knot in it that I can’t seem to roll out with anything I’ve got – foam roller, TP quad baller, lacrosse ball, golf ball, the stick. Sometimes rolling it feels better, sometimes it feels worse.
I’m considering EPAT. I’ve seen a few posts where people say it fixed their Achilles pain within just a few treatments/weeks and could only find one where it didn’t seem to help, though I can’t say I’ve done an exhaustive search.
So - who’s had EPAT before, did it help, and would you recommend it?
As much as I’d love to hear it’s worked wonders for everyone I’m also very interested to hear from people who have had it and didn’t get results. Trying to avoid wishful thinking/confirmation bias.
