Entering Canada with a DUI

I’m planning to visit my aunt in London Ontario. I’m planning to drive from chicago-land. I’d like my brother to join me. He has a DUI on his record from several years ago. Is he able to join me? Is there anything we need to do for him to go along?

They will give you a 25% tariff for each .1% over the legal limit he blew. You will need to submit the test results and certification of the lab or the breathalyzer. It will take 6 months to clear and they will send the bill then.

But seriously, google could probably give you an answer pretty quickly. I cant imagine there is a single country that cares about traffic violations which are misdemeanors. Can you imagine try to even figure out if you had any, I mean in the US the states don’t all communicate well.

Crazy… Times were you drove over there to drink cause their age was 18 and it was 21 in the states.

Guess my brother can’t go to Canada.

Thanks. I read through this. This is why I’m asking the question. I still do not know what I need to do. I even called the number.

I honestly think they design it to be confusing. Bottom line, with enough money you can enter Canada with a DUI (google DUI into Canada lawyers). You don’t think they are keeping professional hockey players out of Canada, and I guarantee there are more than zero professional hockey players with a DUI playing in the NHL.

You well he has 3 options, apply for a TRP (says that takes awhile), Has it been more than 5 yrs since he finished his sentence? if no, no other options, if yes apply for a CR here – https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/application-rehabilitation-inadmissible-persons-criminal-activity.html

Uff da. Back in the day we drove through the border via Fort France’s… no big deal. Now we just want to visit Aunt Ruby and it’s not possible.

I didn’t mean to delete the last post. Apparently I have fat fingers and sadly low vision.

I really could use some help.
