Ensure Aerobars are Ironman Legal?

I am a slow 47 year old age-grouper. My right STI shifter fried. I’m thinking about replacing my road racing handle bars (See Picture)

with an aero setup like this…

I would obviously need to get at least 10 speed bar end shifter for my rear cassette, but I don’t think the Ironman race officials are going to have a problem with those as I will probably go typical Shimano Dura-Ace.

Are there any weird Ironman rules I need to know about before buying aero bars on eBay (or similar source) and fitting them to my Colnago Strada?

I’m sorry if my question seems off. It’s just that I think I was was watching GTN a while back and they were saying some triathlon events actually had safety regulations for the AreoBars. In particular, the AreoBars couldn’t extend too far past the brake hoods or something weird like that.

I don’t know of any aero bars that would be illegal.

You might want to consider getting a TT/triathlon bike.

The rule you referenced is just the ITU draft legal rule for elites. You’re good for any non-draft triathlon.

Thanks everyone. That helps a lot. Wish I could mark IKnowEverything 's post as the answer.

If you need some Dura-ace 10 speed bar end shifters I have 2 sets new in box
