Got ENGO glasses to try… It’s not a true HUD, there is a thing on the nose piece that projects the data on screen. Cool design but that projection piece bothers me.
First impressions, fit is a bit loose for my taste, no way can I run with them.
Biking maybe. However, I would venture that it would not be possible to do a group ride and not crash having these things on, the data is constantly in your face and you can either pay attention to the road and your buddies or
to the data and cause an accident. I am a bit sensitive to motion sickness (ok more than a bit) and after wearing ENGO for 5 min inside the house was developing a VR induced dizziness. It might work for some, especially if you’re data obsessed, otherwise I don’t really see the point. Again, I think this is a potential accident if you are going to wear it on the road.
Next thing, their customer service. NON-EXISTENT. ALL of my messages and emails are being ignored. There is no phone number. I hope someone from the company is reading this.
Bypasskid,
I work for ENGO.
Sorry for the slow response from our team. If you can send me a DM here, I’ll make sure you get a prompt response.
Topline: No excuses. ENGO has a satisfaction guarantee, so rest assured you will be taken care of.
FWIW, the experience you describe is relatively uncommon. A small percentage of product users (single digits) report some dizziness or other motion-related discomfort. Most of these resolve within a short time (~5 minutes). However, for a vast majority of users, the learning curve is almost flat - the eye naturally learns where to look and that’s that. There’s no easy way to pre-qualify this issue, which is one of the reasons why we have a simple satisfaction policy.
As for “true HUD” - anything that projects data in your natural field of view is a HUD. Lots of ways to do this. ENGO is by far the lightest HUD or “lite AR” developed for athletes to date. Placing the display on the nosebridge creates balanced eyewear, light weight, and positions the display for easy glanceability (vs. asymmetrical/outboard designs that require the athlete to shift focus to the side). We hate to quibble, but, yes, it’s a HUD because you don’t need to look down or turn your head or even shift your eyes away from your primary focus. A majority of users learn to shift attention naturally between the road and the data projection, but as I said - there’s a relatively small percentage of users who have a different experience. Reasons for this are highly individual.
Sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t a good one. We do appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for posting, and please reach out so we can get you sorted.
Do you still work at Engo? I’ve sent 3 messages inquiring about different things. I’ve since bought a pair and no one will respond to emails. Customer service is terrible.

I’ve got pair of the Engo v2’s and had to get a pair swapped out due to going weird (turning themselves off etc)
Email support was super super slow and at times non responsive when I queried some of the software bugs I’ve noticed - even ignoring follow up emails I sent to the same support email address.
Surprisingly swapping out the glasses for another pair was pretty quick when I sent a support email in. But overall - I get the same feeling as you - CS is not up to par.
We hear you.
We have a plan to improve - and we are making gains.
Like getting ready for a triathlon, it doesn’t happen overnight - I know this isn’t much help in your case, and sorry for that.
Feel free to DM me here, I’m not online every day, but I do get email notifications and will follow up if you reach out.
Thanks!

Hello. Yes, I’m still with ENGO (and still here).
If you’re ok to send me a DM here with some info I can use to find your case (e.g., order number, email), I’ll make sure you get a response today or Monday, latest.
If you’d prefer not to share personal info (I don’t blame you), please email ENGO one more time and include “TWITCH” in your note.
Sorry to ask you to take more action on this, but it will be help connect the dots and get you sorted.
Thank you!

In the end, it worked out for me (I have working glasses!) and the process was pretty painless for that aspect. So thanks whoever sorted that. Just a little sad all the effort to detail a bug and provide repeatable steps and video went unanswered.
Maybe it’s the company structure as it appears to be many (ActiveLook, MicroOLED, Engo) maybe you are all one and the same, but it’s a little confusing.
Any luck. Good luck with the v2 - I’m warming to mine more.
