Endless pools cold climate?

Doing some remodeling and looking to add an endless pool or similar. Live in Michigan so winter is challenging. Not sure how major a remodel we will do so the question is does it have to go inside or a covered structure outside? Anyone in a similar situation have ideas?

i had mine outside, lows in the winter to the mid teens. i had no problem.

now, heating the bastard, that’s something else. yes, i could heat it, but i wore out the bearings on my electric meter. just bear that in mind.

Ah yes

You are better off covering the endless pool. Even if you build a new pool house around it, it would pay for itself in saved electricity. In how long? Don’t know.

What sort of temp did you keep it at in the winter to be able to swim in it?

The rep I spoke with acted like it was no big deal and some northern states customers had it outside with no shelter for it.

Hello from Endless Pools,

Yes, we do have some customers who choose a year-round outdoor installation in colder climates. To help control costs, we offer insulated covers and a gas heat option; we can also advise on super-insulating the cabinet and converting to solar.

For year-round access in Michigan, we still recommend indoors. Basements, corners, garages are all possible locations, and you’d only need a footprint of about 9’x16 for our standard model.
