Out of NUUN in the Texas heat, I used Emergen-C in my bottle and it seemed to work just fine. CostCo sells 90-packs of it for about $15, so it comes out a lot cheaper in the long run as well. It’s a tad bit carbonated, but it’s not bad.
Is it comparable to NUUN? Anything I’m missing here, other than the fact that it’s really easy to add a NUUN tablet and you don’t have to fiddle with the wrapper like you do with Emergen-C?
It has a lot more stuff in it than nuun in terms of minerals. That much vitamin C while exercising wouldn’t work for my sensitive stomach. And one personal observation, Emergen-C tastes awful when it’s diluted and left in water too long. It tastes best when it’s right out of the packet in a tiny amt of water. I think nuun is a lot more versatile…
emergen-c (and alacer products) are minerals and vitamins. nuun is electrolytes. both are added to water so obviously you’re hydrating either way, but for optimal (and sustained) hydration you need an electrolyte profile. especially one that includes sodium. emergen-c doesn’t.
have a cold? emergen-c
