Anyone have or heard good/bad things about Elite Road Bikes?
I have an Elite’s top of the line road bike (as well as one of their tri bikes). I’ve owned and test ridden dozens of bikes in my life and both of my Elites are the nicest bikes I’ve ever been on. My road bike is light enough for the Maryland hills and plenty stiff for any pedal mashing in the group rides. You can get many of the frames painted in the colors you want and you’ll probably be the only guy in your group with it! The best part is that you get the same top notch customer service and guarantee that come with all Elite cycles. The bike fits me like a glove and I can ride for hours with no discomfort (except for my burning quads, of course!)
Again, I have the aluminum/carbon mix frame, but they also have a frame specifically for crits if you want. Give them a ring and talk about what you need. I’m sure they can get it done!
Just wondering but would you post a pic of your Elite road bike?
i bought an Elite Joule Pro Carbon this last May and love it. This was my second Elite road bike (first was a Joule Pro) and first was a T-Class TT bike. All have been very stiff and very comfortable. With his customer service, it’s hard to look anywhere else.
Elite frames are exceptional. I have the pleasure of owning both a Joule and a T-Class. The Joule is quite light and lively with a springy, nimble feel. Not harsh in any way. Many folks on slowtwitch poo-poo aluminum. Do your homework. You’ll find that the ride quality of the Elite Joule is on par with the best carbon and titanium frames available.
ummm…ahhhh…why do all of you only have like 5 posts each? hahaha.
Just wondering?!?!
I’ve been here a while and have 460+ posts, not 5. Once in a while you stumble onto something that works. I’m happy to report good things about a product that we all are interested in. No, I don’t work for Dave Greenfield. Yes, I’ve met him at a couple of Ironman events. Yes, I’ve purchased 2 Elite bikes. That’s the extent of my relationship with Elite.
You can crawl back under your rock now.
I think Dave may have made the single nicest road bike I saw at Interbike. It was in the Edge booth, right next to a Speedvagen a Parlee, and a Crumpton, and as stunning as they all were, the bike I walked away wishing I owned was the Elite.
.
I have both the Razor and Joule Pro. I love both bikes. My Joule Pro climbs like a goat, but lite alu frames are perfect for my body type and riding style.

I have several hundred more posts than you. What’s your point? Just wondering?!?!?!?!? Hahaha.

I don’t feel the need to comment about every thread that pops up. However, I wanted to chime in on this one because Elite does an amazing job with their bikes and a even better job with their service. Everyone on the staff will do what it takes to make sure you ride away a satisfied customer. Like I told the original poster, give them a call the next time you’re in the market for a bike.
I have a T class TT bike from Elite and I’ve ridden a Joule. Elite bikes are quality products backed by exceptional service. I love the bikes.
They let my one buddy borrow the Vier, a crit specific bike, for about a month so he could race a draft legal race. Not only did they let him train on it and race on it, but David put aside a couple hours to fit him to it…for one race! They never asked for anything…just that he enjoy the ride. He wouldn’t stop talking about the bike for a month and I bet if you ask him today he would say that is the best bike he’s ever ridden.
I would call them if I were you. 215-732-8973.
I have a Razor tri bike and as I’m getting ready for Ironman Florida doing 6 hour rides on my bike it is seriously the most comfortable bike I have ever been on. I don’t know what else to say other than that.
Plus, Elite is one of the few companies where the bikes are manufactured in the USA. And it is probably one of the few companies you can call and the owner will speak with you for an unlimited amount of time.
I Love my Elite. Seriously, I would marry it if it was legal in the State of Ohio.

Sweet!! I am a troll for the first time. I am just used to other forums where it shows your post count below your name and I saw the first post as #1, and the rest low…figured it was new guys logging in to pitch some brand. Seen it before. Again I will crawl back under my rock…hahaha!!
i have a joule pro carbon and love it to death. i also have an aluminum razor that i love too. i used to work at a tri shop and was able to ride the best of the best carbon from cervelo, felt, qr and others but none matched up to my elite. i was fortunate enough to spend some time around dave and richie, which is quite an experience. you won’t be dissappointed if you decide to go with an elite. even if you’re just considering them, starting thinking about your paint now!!! it’s the hardest decision when you actually GET to pick your color scheme.

Thanks for the kind words. Here is the bike in question:

Is the Elite Joule Pro Carbon only available in a custom fit or do they have stock sizes? Can you post a pic
can’t comment to the road bikes specifically BUT i’ve owned a T-Class, Aria, and a Razor…great tri bikes! i think dave and everyone else at the company excel at customer service and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Funny, I also have owned a T6, and Aria and now a custom (similar to a Razor but different frame material) Elite. I will second every positive word written about Elite Bicycles, they are a great company and as long as Dave is at the helm I will not ride another tri bike.
Joule Pro Carbon is custom only. No stock. That pic of Lars’ bike above your post is a Joule Pro Carbon. That is one of the finest paint schemes I’ve seen. Pretty sick. Anyone else notice the stars on the fork. Pretty f-in badass.
