Anyone have info on this thing? Is it a ZIPP?
Did you see it for sale or on a sponsored rider’s bike?
I saw todd wiley with one at timberman. It’s just a sticker on some other brands wheel.
On their website. It said it is “engineered” by ZIPP, so is it just like the blackwell disk wheel and basically the same as the old Zipp without dimples?
Dave has a very close relationship with the folks at Zipp and, as I understand it, they are allowing him to rebadge their non-dimple disk offering (the disk is built by Zipp and warrantied by Zipp). I think he has a few colors available. However, I expect someone from Elite will eventually wander over here and go all in over the top of me.
Hello All,
Elite Bicycles is in fact offering a disc wheel. It is manufactured and warranted by Zipp. It is the non-dimpled version. Admittedly it is slightly less aerodynamic than the dimpled version however it certainly makes up for this loss with an attractive price ($1,199.99) and even more aesthetic look. It is currently available in Two decal options, however we are more than happy to create custom color decals for anyone who is interested in matching there current bike. Bellow is a full description of our disc, photo’s will be soon to follow.

The Elite disc is made for flat out speed. If you’re serious about burning up the road, this is the wheel to help ignite your ride. This all carbon composite disc wheel is constructed with a honeycomb core, making it an extremely lightweight, stiff, high performance rear wheel. As for aerodynamics, disc wheels have always been tested and proven to be the fastest wheels in the race of truth. Engineered by Zipp, they are manufactured completely flat only 19mm in total cross section to present an extremely small frontal area. Hand laid unidirectional Carbon skins are cured to a honeycomb core with no raised surfaces. This allows maximum air flow over the disc surface and between the bike frame and wheel. Cured utilizing aerospace composite manufacturing methodology, the resulting product is unsurpassed in lateral stiffness, responsiveness and overall low weight. Perimeter rim mass is less than 85g resulting in a quickness of acceleration that is significantly better than virtually any conventional wheel while the low overall weight puts this disc in a class all its own.
The disc wheel is available in a 912g 650c tubular or a 950g 700c tubular. Decals are available in a white fill and silver outline or blue fill and orange outline.
And just that quickly, we have added Red with Silver outline decals to our disc line up of color choices.

I love this forum. Where else can you get this type of response from the people who make the stuff we love to use? I lose track of who we’ve seen responses from, but I recall Elite, DeSoto, PlanetX, John Cobb, InfiniT, Hammer Nutrition, and of course Slow Man himself. I’m probably missing several others. Pretty cool.
Can we get an Elite wheel with a ST logo?
Nice!! Thanks for the info. I hope to see pictures soon.
while you’re in the room, what’s the status of the Razor Carbon?
Hello Veggie Terror,
I too eat a lot of vegetables.
Thanks for the inquiry, we will be starting full production in about a week or so, we just made some very last minute changes that cost us a little more time, however we feel the changes were in fact necessary and worth the small time delay. we should have the first few done in about 6 weeks. Thanks again for asking.
