My Direto has worked great for about 2 years, but now it suddenly won’t change resistance. I’ve used a variety of apps to try to get it to work, ANT, Bluetooth, My E Training, Zwift, Garmin… I also used the Upgrado app to check the firmware and it says it is up to date.
The likely culprit I’ve noticed is it doesn’t make the resistance motor sound when it first turns on like it usually does. I read on a support forum that there is a bracket with a gold screw in it that is supposed to move and maybe that isn’t working on mine anymore.
Is anybody here familiar with this problem? It’s not a Zwift problem - it’s an “any controller from anything is not working” problem.
Check out this thread on Trainerroad’s forums https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/elite-direto-control-issues/41849/7. One person commented their board died and Elite sent them a new one to install (after providing a video as proof of such). Might be the electronics called it quits on your trainer.
This just happened to me 3 weeks ago. Elite was great. Ended up needing a new board, which they sent at no cost from Italy to California. If you just emailed them, they’ll respond within 24 hours, walk you through some process to check and probably have you send them a video of the motor screw to confirm the problem. Then they’ll send the board. Super easy to install
